Box Score Lakewood, N.J.- In a contest moved from Tuesday to Sunday to dodge the impending winter storm, the Georgian Court University men's lacrosse squad hosted Southern New Hampshire University, falling to the Penman by an 11-4 count.
SNHUÂ (2-1), playing its second straight outing on the GCU turf (Saturday vs. Alderson-Broaddus), controlled the offensive end of the field by peppering the Lions for a 7-0 advantage with 5:00 left in the third period. The Lions finally broke up the shutout bid, courtesy of consecutive goals by
Ryder Verdoni (4:33) and
Jake Sherman (3:01) in the same frame.
The two teams would alternate the next four scoring efforts, putting the Penman ahead, 9-4, with 9:27 remaining before the visitors drained two insurance efforts over the final 5:59 to seal the victory.

Daniel Trainor (Sr.-Billerica, Mass.) netted a game-high three goals while four other Penmen poured in two goals apiece.
Austin Geissel compiled 18 saves for the Lions in a complete-game goal-keeping effort.
Tyler Walsh (Sr.-Northampton, Mass.) deflected seven Georgian Court shots in the SNHUÂ triumph.
