Box Score 2 Lakewood, N.J.- The Georgian Court University softball squad made its 2017 home debut Tuesday afternoon with a Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) doubleheader vs. Holy Family University. The visiting Tigers dismissed the Lions in both contests, 5-1 and 16-3 (5 inn.).
GAME ONE
Holy Family (6-6, 2-0 CACC) plated a pair of runs in the second and seventh frames, and a single tally in the third, to build a comfortable 5-0 advantage. GCU'sÂ
Kelly Hardiman spoiled
Koreen Orozco's (Jr.-Whittier, Calif.) shutout bid with an RBI double in the last of the seventh to account for the Lions' lone run.
Orozco (5-3) scattered four hits and walked none (4 K) to earn the complete-game victory for HFU.
Jessica O'Neil (1-6) also went the distance for Georgian Court, permitting five runs (4 ER) on nine hits and two free passes (1 K) over 7.0 innings pitched.

Brianna Scotto (Sr.-West Babylon, N.Y.) highlighted the Holy Family offense with a 4-for-4 performance at the dish, which included a double, triple, run scored, and two RBI. GCU'sÂ
Samantha Salomon (2-for-3) collected two of the team's four hits.
GAME TWO
Georgian Court (1-15, 0-2 CACC) owned a brief 2-0 lead out of the gate in the nightcap before the Tigers plated seven in the second, five in the third, and four more in the fifth inning to coast to the 16-3, five-frame triumph.
Jessica Wisuri (Fr.-Modesto, Calif.) improved to 1-2 for the HFU pitching staff with 4.1 innings of relief work (1 R, ) ER, 3 H, 2 BB, 2 K) while GCU starter,
Taylor Baloga, dropped to 0-4 on the campaign (2.0 IP, 7 R, 7 ER, 7 H, BB, K).
Five Tigers gathered two or more hits with the bat, led by
Sam Klem's (So.-San Diego, Calif.) 3-for-4 performance, which included three RBI and a run scored. 3B
Rachel Zeides (Fr.-Woodbine, N.Y.) brought around four runs of her own, three courtesy of the freshman's first collegiate long ball in the third inning.

Bryana Smith went 2-for-3 in the loss for Georgian Court.
The Lions will next take on Felician University at home this Friday at 2:30 p.m. The CACC twin-bill is a make-up for an original postponement at Felician back on March 18. The Golden Falcons will serve as the home team in both games.
