Box Score 1 | Box Score 2 Waterbury, Conn. - The Georgian Court University softball squad, coming off Friday's sensational sweep over Felician University, was unable to duplicate the deed on Saturday as the Lions suffered a two-game sweep against Post University in Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) action. The host-Eagles sent GCU (3-17, 2-4 CACC) south with defeats of 9-5 and 12-3 (5 inn.).

GAME ONE

The Lions started the afternoon hot by jumping out to a 3-0 lead  after a Samantha Salomon ribbie single in the third and a two-run homer to left by Kelly Hardiman in the fourth. A Salomon two-bagger in the top of the fifth gave the visitors a 4-1 advantage before the Eagles posted a three-spot in the bottom of the frame to tie the affair at 4-4.

Marissa Trezza put GCU back ahead in the sixth with an RBI single to center before Post countered with a five-run blitz in the home half, highlighted by an Erica Ragazzone three-run homer, to secure the come-from-behind victory.

Brianna Koref (Fr.-Springfield, N.J.) earned the win out of the Post bullpen, permitting one run (1 ER) on two hits and a walk over two innings. Taylor Baloga suffered the defeat in relief for the Lions (1.0 IP, 4 R, 3 ER, 2 BB).

GAME TWO

Post (6-9, 2-2 CACC) again provided the Lions a three-spot in the nightcap, this time courtesy of Samantha Reilly's third dinger of the season in the top of the first. The Eagles quickly erased the deficit with four runs in the second, followed by additional four-spots in the third and fourth frames, in cruising to the five-inning triumph.

Brianna Rotunno (Fr.-Staten Island, N,Y.) went the distance for Post to earn the win (5.0 IP, 3 R, ER, 6 H, 2 BB, 5 K) while Jessica O'Neil took the loss for GCU (3.0 IP, 8 R, 8 ER, 11 H, BB, K).

With Sunday's home double-dip vs. Molloy College canceled, Georgian Court now prepares for a CACC showdown at Chestnut Hill College this Wednesday at 2:30 p.m.
