GAME ONE
Georgian Court, opening the day still alive in the playoff hunt, jumped out to an immediate 3-0 advantage with a run in the first frame and more in the second. A
Monica Levins (Sr.-Norristown, Pa.) RBI single through the right side made the score 3-1 Lions in home half of the third before the Lady Rams barreled over GCU with a hefty six-spot in the sixth to grab a 7-3 lead, and essentially the win.
Naomi Stas (So.-Tuckerton, N.J.) went the distance to improve to 10-8 in the circle for Philadelphia (7.0 IP, 7 H, 4 R, 2 ER, 6 K).
Jessica O'Neil, in her final start of the season for the Lions, ends the year at 7-14 with the setback (41. IP, 10 H, 5 R, 5 ER, 2 K).
Bryana Smith went 2-for-4 with an RBI atop the Georgian Court lineup while
Kelly Hardiman (1-for-4, 2B),
Breanna Keelan (1-for-1) and
Cassandra Varvaro (1-for-3, R) accounted for the remainder of the Lions' runs-batted-in.
GAME TWO
After four scoreless innings to start the nightcap, Philadelphia rallied for a trio of tallies in both the fifth and sixth frames to coast to the 6-0 shutout.
Stephanie Pepper (So.-Toms River, N.J.) authored a spicy complete-game, four-hitter (8 K) to improve to 10-13 on the year for the Lady Rams.
Marissa Trezza went 5.2 innings in the start for the Lions, falling to 4-5 overall in the process (6 R, 6 ER, 7 H, 4 BB, 2K).
The Lions finish the 2017 schedule at 14-30 (11-15 CACC), doubling its win total from a year ago.
