Box Score Lakewood, N.J. - Georgian Court University welcomed Post University to campus Saturday afternoon where the visiting Eagles glided to an easy 13-4 victory over the host-Lions.
Post took control of the contest immediately by compiling a 7-0 lead after the first 30 minutes of action. GCU (3-9) thwarted the Eagles' shutout effort by netting the first three tallies of the second stanza. The visitors, however, responded with five unanswered of their own to build an untouchable 12-3 advantage with 8:47 remaining in regulation.
Alsharif Blackman (Sr.-Easton, Pa.) paced Post with his game-high five goals while teammates
Trevor Buchas (Sr.-Bristol, Conn.) and
Frank Nichols Jr. (Jr.-Oceanside, Calif.) poured in a pair apiece for the Eagles.
Chris Van Ooteghem collected two of the Lions' four scores with
Michael Saladino and
Jake Sherman taking credit for the others.
Shane Trost (Sr.-Rochester, N.Y.) registered 11 saves for Post en route to the Eagles' fourth win (4-6) of the season.
Austin Geissel collected 16 saves of his own over 55:43 in the setback.
The Lions stay on home turf for its next outing, a showdown vs. Chestnut Hill University this Tuesday afternoon at 3:30 p.m.
