Box Score Lakewood, N.J.- The Georgian Court University women's soccer squad debuted its 2017 roster Friday afternoon, falling to visiting University of New Haven, 1-0, in NCAA Division II non-conference action.

The lone score of the day came with 29 seconds remaining (44:31) in the first half as Allison Morgan (Sr.-Raritan, N.J.) put the Chargers (1-0) ahead with a blast from 20 yards out that just sailed over the outstretched arms of GCU keeper, Natalie Axelsson (three saves).

The Lions (0-1) owned a mighty 19-7 shots advantage, including an 8-4 shots-on-goal surplus, but the home team could not slip one past New Haven net-minder, Kyra Wolonsavich (Jr.-Beverly, Mass.), who earned the win (and shutout) with seven saves on the day.

Anissia Fucci topped Georgian Court with five shots (2 SOG) in the setback while senior Lizzy Kroon got off four efforts (2 SOG) of her own.

GCU returns to the pitch this Monday with a 12:00 p.m. home contest vs. St. Thomas Aquinas College.
