East Stroudsburg, Pa. - The Georgian Court University Men's Track & Field squad enjoyed a stellar showing Saturday as the Lions competed in the annual East Stroudsburg University DeSchriver Invitational.
On the track, the quartet of
Dan Claudeo,
Hussein Elmeshad,
Patrick Parr and
Jason Rodriguez established a new team record in the 4 X 800 Relay, placing third overall with a time of 8:21.47. The mark eclipses previous the GCU best of 8:29.94, set back on Jan. 28, 2017.
In the High Jump,
Robert Hill soared to a height of 1.90 meters, tying the sophomore's season-best and keeping him at #1 in the East Coast Conference for the year. Teammates
DaShawn Lamar-Baldwin and
Kennedy Omari each cleared the 1.75m-mark, tying them both for 6th in the ECC.
Leon White launched a Weight Throw effort of 15.83 meters, good for third overall at the meet.
Georgian Court returns to competition on Friday with an appearance in the Fast Track National Invitational.
