Shippensburg, Pa. - The Georgian Court University men's track & field squad kicked off a busy week of action Wednesday afternoon with an appearance in the Shippensburg University Invitational.
On the track,
Hussein Elmeshad coasted to a fourth-place finish in the 800m Run with a time of 1:59.22.
Daniel Claudeo followed in fifth with his mark of 2:00.10.
Devin Martin (16.03 seconds) and
Kraig Ruff (17.81) placed fifth and eighth, respectively, in the 110m Hurdles. Ruff proceeded to take sixth in the 400m Hurdles at 57.62, followed by Martin in seventh at 57.82.
Kennedy Omari sprinted to a tidy time of 11.61 seconds in the 100m Dash, good for sixth place, while
Tom Natoli took tenth in the 400m Dash at 53.47. The quartet of Natoli, Martin,
Jason Rodriguez, and
Jake Thoms joined forces for a fourth-place time of 3:28.85 in the 4 X 400 relay.
Omari also enjoyed a fine showing in the Long Jump, taking seventh with a height of 6.42m.
Cameron Wardle (1.86m) and
Robert Hill (1.81m) placed fifth and sixth, respectively, in the High Jump while
Evan Boyce cleared 3.80m (7th) in the Pole Vault.
As for throws,
Leon White took fifth in the Hammer at 41.95m, along with a showing of 42.95m in the Discus.
Alaa Al-Shrouf nailed a seventh-place distance of 13.27m in the Shot Put and an effort of 39.37m in the Hammer.
Kyle Muir continues to impress in the Javelin with a throw of 51.29m, good enough for seventh overall.
The Lions next compete as a team this Sunday in the 23rd annual Monmouth University Opener in West Long Branch, N.J.
