Logan Township, N.J. - Georgian Court University's
Hussein Elmeshad placed third overall in Saturday's Rowan Inter-Regional Border Battle as the men's cross country squad collectively took the sixth spot in the Lions' final regular-season meet of the year.
The Lions gathered 158 total points in the contest, finishing behind NYU (4th, 107 points), host-Rowan University (3rd, 91), Haverford College (2nd, 66) and meet champion, Carnegie Mellon (20).
Elmeshad continues to put together a sensational senior campaign as he coasted to a time of 25:42.2 on the 8K course at DREAM Park.
Chukwuebizie Anuamadi (19th, 26:52.5) and
Jarod Brzyski (22nd, 26:59.5) rounded out the Lions' Top-3.
Other GCU participants include:
Nolan Czech (57th, 28:09.3),
DaShawn Lamar-Baldwin (95th, 29:16.9) and
Israel Torres (105th, 29:43.5).
Georgian Court now preps for the 2019 Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) Championship meet, which will take place Sunday, Oct. 27 at Belmont Plateau in Philadelphia, Pa.
