Millersville, Pa. - Four new team records were authored by the the Lions Saturday as Georgian Court University enjoyed a second-place showing at Saturday's 37th-annual Millersville University Metrics. With their 115 total points, GCU trailed only East Stroudsburg University (162 points) in the 22-team field.
For the second consecutive week,
Chukwuebizie Anuamadi snapped the team mark in the 800m Run with a first-place time of 1:55.93. The freshman eclipsed his previous program-best of 1:56.17, set last Saturday at the Monmouth University Season Opener.
Charles Wolef-Fields topped the field with a time of 11.14 seconds in the 100m Dash, snapping the five-year-old team record of 11.21 set by
Michael Rogers back on April 26, 2014.
Cameron Shaw followed with a fifth-place finish on the day at 11.34 seconds.
Kennedy Omari, like Anuamadi, bested his own record in the Lions' annals with a fourth-place leap of 6.75 meters in the Long Jump. The Cherry Hill, N.J. native's previous-best of 6.68m was initially established on May 7, 2017 at the CACC Championships.
Dylan Breen and
Cameron Shaw placed fifth and sixth respectively, with distances of 6.71 and 6.57 meters.
Another team-high crumbled for the second straight week as
Jeshurun Devero knocked off
Devin Martin's record (13.99m, 3/30/19) in the Triple Jump with his third-place leap of 14.32 meters.
Nathan Gill and
Cameron Wardle each tied for eighth-place with heights of 1.82 meters in the High Jump.
Evan Boyce soared to second-place on the day after clearing 4.30 meters in the Pole Vault.
In throws action,
William Goldsborough landed a second-place finish in the Shot Put (16.13m) while taking third overall in the Discus (47.52m).
