Lakewood, N.J. - Head coach Mike Murawski announced today that Jan Volkmar of Eschwege, Hessen (Germany) will be joining the Georgian Court University men's track & field program as the newest member of the Lions' class of 2025.

"We are extremely happy to announce the signing of Jan Volkmar from Germany," stated Coach Murawski. He will come to Georgian Court with a plethora of experience in the decathlon, and looks to also shine in many individual events. We look forward to witnessing his success at the collegiate level.'

A 6'1", 177-lb. decathlon and pole vault track & field athlete, Jan enjoyed vast success in the South German Championships, while placing second overall in the pole vault in the German Indoor Championships.

Looking to study psychology once at Georgian Court, Jan chose Georgian Court because "at GCU, I immediately had a good feeling. I get along with my coaches well and, all in all, I represent the values conveyed atr Georgian Court."
