Philadelphia, Pa.- Georgian Court University men's cross country brought its squad to the City of Brotherly Love Saturday afternoon as the Lions participated in the Philadelphia Metropolitan Invitational, host by Jefferson.
The Lions totaled 50 points with an average time of 30:05.6 on the 8K course for an impressive second-place team finish. The host-Rams earned the overall team victory with 32 points and an average time of 29:35.1.
Xavier Seals, for the second-consecutive week, topped Georgian Court with a time of 28:55.2 and a second-place result in the individual standings.
Chukwuebizie Anuamadi followed close behind, finishing 6th overall with a mark of 29:38.1.
Kevin Knoetig ranked 12th overall 30:20.4 while
Jarod Brzyski (30.37.0) and
Kyle Spector (30:57.3) took 15th and 17th, respectively, in the season debut for each.
Dylan Navarro (22nd, 31:26.0),
Nolan Czech (27th, 31:40.7), and
Riley Keffer (30th, 32:19.7) closed out the Lions' entries.
"This team is quickly turning some heads within the CACC with a perfect blend of experience and young talent," stated head coach
Mike Murawski. "If they continue to stick to the game plan and be patient, we believe they can have some big moments at the end of the year when it counts."
Georgian Court will next see action on Saturday, Sept. 18 with a 9:00 a.m. start at the Kutztown University Division II/III Challenge.
