Aniyah Russell is an All-American! The senior from Jackson, N.J. earned First-Team All-America honors Friday (Mar. 11) with a fifth-place finish in the Long Jump at the 2022 NCAA Division II Indoor Track & Field National Championships (hosted by Pittsburg State University).
Russell's leap of 6.06 meters (19.88 feet) breaks her previous team record of 6.05m (19.84 feet), originally established Feb. 5 a the Boston University Bruce Lehane Scarlett & White Invite. The high-flying superstar becomes the fifth All-American in program history, joining
Alyssa Hudgins (2013-Weight Throw) Tiffany Okeime (2014-Shot Put, Weight Throw), and Lyric Green (2020-Triple Jump) in the annals of the royal-and-gold.
Athletes of member institutions who finished in the top-8 of their respective individual events and relays took home First-Team All-America honors.
