Brown, Wokocha Pick Up CACC Weekly Honors

NEW HAVEN, Conn. (April 1, 2026) - Conditions weren't perfect last week, but they rarely are this time of year and Georgian Court Track and Field performed strongly despite the cold and rain. Two stood out though with Chiamaka Wokocha and Daizhae' Brown named the CACC Field Athlete and Field Rookie of the Week.

Wokocha turned in the CACC's best performance thus far this season in the hammer throw, finishing fifth at the Monmouth Season Open with a toss of 45.66m (149-10). That effort was also good for sixth place on the Lions' all-time list. She also finished seventh in the discus throw at 36.48m (119-8) and is sixth in the CACC this season in that event.

Brown finished third in the long jump at the Monmouth last weekend. Her mark of 5.17m (16-11.5) fell short of her top jump this year, but would still have been No. 1 on the CACC performance list, a place she currently occupies. Her day wasn't finished as she placed sixth in the high jump clearing the bar at 1.45m (4-9) which is an outdoor PR this season.

In addition to Wokocha and Brown, Cameren Anderson and Shalom Adzakro made the CACC Honor Roll. In two weeks of the outdoor season, GCU has earned five total Athlete of the Week honors.

Georgian Court competes again this weekend. They'll be at the Millersville Metric Friday and Saturday, April 3-4.
