Lakewood, N.J. - Georgian Court University's
Julia Kirschnick closed out her freshman campaign in style Saturday as the newly-crowned CACC women's pole vault champion raised the bar quite literally this past Saturday, clearing a program-best height of 3.56 meters in the Princeton University Elite Invitational.
The mark erases the team record of 3.45 meters she had set last Wednesday in the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference Outdoor Championship Meet (hosted by Georgian Court). The native of Borstel-Hohenraden, Germany originally entered the GCU outdoor annals back on April 20, clearing 3.38 meters at the Shippensburg University Mid-Week Invite.
Ginalee Erskine, who paced the Georgian Court women's squad with 27 individual points en route to the team's eighth-straight CACC crown, placed eighth-overall in Princeton with a Hammer Throw of 48.11 meters.
Shanae Rayside, the CACCÂ Triple Jump champ, took seventh with a leap of 11.23 meters.
Like Kirschner,
Robbie Babson also enjoyed an impressive collegiate debut as the freshman Shot Put champion placed fifth at Princeton with a toss of 15.62 meters.
The royal-and-gold also sent a contingency to upstate New York to compete in Sunday's Nazareth College ROC City Final Qualifier.
Jarod Brzyski (800m, 1,500m) and
Nolan Czech (800m) represented the men's roster while
Rachel Pausz (800m) competed on the women's side.
