Track and Field Puts Five on All-Region Team

NEW ORLEANS (May 15, 2025) - Following all of the NCAA Division II Outdoor Track and Field Conference Championships and the selection to the National Meet, the United States Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) announced their All-Region selections.

Top-5 individuals in each event from each region earned All-Region honors, in addition to each of the members of a top-3 ranked relay team. Only USTFCCCA member programs are eligible for awards.

Georgian Court put five on the All-East Region Team. The Lions compete in the East Region along with the other members of the CACC and teams in the Northeast-10 and the ECC.

All five Lions to make the All-Region Team come from the throwing events. Robbie Babson is the only senior and shot putter to make the team. The other four are all sophomores. Malicah Etienne, Kaydence Fischer and Mark Linton made the team in the discus while Ava Reardon did so in the javelin.

Babson makes his fourth consecutive USTFCCCA Outdoor Track and Field All-East Region team in the shot put. This season, he threw an outdoor personal-best mark 54-6.75. He did that at the CACC Championship meet, where he also won his fourth conference title. That mark also has him third on the all-time best list at Georgian Court. He hit the NCAA qualifying mark for nationals and ranked third in the region.

Etienne is the only other repeat All-Region honoree for the Lions. He too hit an NCAA qualifying mark this season in the discus with his throw of 166-9, which was fourth in the East. Etienne took second at the CACC Championship meet in the event. He's now a two-time All-Region performer in the discus.

One spot ahead of Etienne in the discus on the East-Region list was Mark Linton. Linton set a new GCU record in the event throwing 174-10 at the CACC Championships to win the meet. His mark was third in the region and 27th in the nation.

In her first season with the Lions, Kaydence Fischer makes the All-Region team in the discus. She threw 139-11 this season which is fourth in the East and moved her to third all-time at Georgian Court. That season-best mark came at the CACC Championships where she won her first conference crown.

The only woman from the CACC to hit a national qualifying mark in a field event this season was Ava Reardon in the javelin. Reardon threw 139-2 this season which put her second in the region and third all-time at Georgian Court. Reardon won her first CACC Championship this season in the even as well.
