NEW HAVEN, Conn. (Sept. 20, 2022) - Two members from Georgian Court Cross Country earned weekly honors this week from the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC).
Kyle Spector took home this week's CACC Runner of the Week award and
Brenna Sullivan was named the CACC Rookie of the Week.
Spector was the winner of the Goldey-Beacom Fall Classic. He paced a field of 49, winning the 8K race in 28:00.1. In back-to-back weeks, Spector has finished either first or second individually. Spector was not only the individual champion, but led the Lions to a team victory as well. GCU scored 28 points in the meet, besting second place by 26 points.
This is the second honor for Spector this season. He's also made the CACC Weekly Honor Roll.
For the women,
Brenna Sullivan led the Lions at the GBC Fall Classic. She ran a personal-best time of 22:35.7 for the 5K race. She finished in 12th place overall and was the top Lion finisher. Among Division II competition, Sullivan finished third and was the top DII freshman finisher.
Georgian Court Cross Country competes again next Friday, Sept. 30 at the Paul Short Run, hosted by Lehigh.
