NEW YORK, NY (Jan. 14, 2023) - Georgian Court Track and Field was back in action for the first time in more than a month. They took part in the TCNJ Invitational hosted at the Armory.
Sprints and Hurdles
• Three Lions reached the finals in the 60m hurdles.
Jan Volkmar finished third overall running 8.65 to match his personal-best.
Julian Rodriguez (8.67) and
Henry Jean-Michel (9.14) placed back-and-forth in sixth and seventh.
•
Noah Roach finished 13th in the 60m dash running 7.14.
•
Shalom Adzakro was the only Lion into the finals of the women's 60m hurdles. She was sixth in the finals running 9.51 after running 9.42 in the prelims.
Jaison-Ashley Pleva ran a personal-best 9.77 and was in the top-10 in 10th place.

Yanely Bohorquez-Gonzalez led the women in the short sprints. She ran 8.32 in the 60m dash for 26th place.
•
Aaliyah Thorpe led the Lion women in the 400m. She ran 1:04.55 for 26th place.
•
Aamere McKethan represented the Lion men running 54.79 for 400m.
Distance
•
Xavier Seals had a big season-opening mark in the 800m. He ran 1:55.12 for an indoor personal-best. It improves upon his mark which was already second all-time at Georgian Court.
• Much of the Lion distance crew was in action for the first time since cross country season.
Riley Keffer moved up the all-time top-10 list running a personal-best 4:33.76 for 24th place.

Brenna Sullivan ran her first collegiate race. She finished in 6:07.28 for the mile.
• A handful of athletes ran the 500m.
Sean Donnamaria crossed the line in 1:08.54 for fifth place. That puts him seventh all-time in the event at GCU.
•
Amirah Beasley also entered the top-10 in the 500m. She ran 1:24.60 for 10th place and moved into ninth at GCU.
• Running the the 3,000m,
Alec Valle improved upon his time from last month. He finished in 27th and ran 8:59.81 which moved him up to third all-time at GCU, becomming just the third Lion to break nine minutes in the event.
Jumps
• In the triple jump,
Shanae Rayside set a big personal-best jumping 38-4.75 to place fourth overall. That's a lifetime best indoors and outdoors and moves her to third all-time at GCU and is an NCAA provisional qualifier.

Aniyah Russell notched another top-10 finish in the long jump. She placed sixth with a mark of 18-6.5.
Shalom Adzakro after running the 60m hurdles set a PR in the long jump at 16-9.75.
• After a top-10 finish in the 60m hurdles,
Jan Volkmar picked up another in the long jump. He placed ninth with a mark of 21-11. That's a personal-best mark and moves him sixth all-time indoors at GCU.
• Volkmar wasn't finished. He placed third overall as well in the pole vault after clearing 15-5.

Jeshurun Devero was the top collegiate finisher in the men's triple jump. His mark of 47-3.5 was second overall.
•
Elena Martinez-Rodriguez was the Lions top finisher in the women's high jump. She cleared 4-11 to place 13th.
Throws
•
Robbie Babson was the lone Lion thrower. He finished in sixth place in the weight throw with a mark of 42-6.5. He then set an indoor personal-best in the shot put throwing 52-00.75 and finished third in the competition. He also moved up to fourth all-time at Georgian Court.
Georgian Court is back on the track next week. They'll return to the Armory in NYC for the Ramapo Opener Friday, Jan. 20.
