NEW ORLEANS (Oct. 11, 2023) - For the second time this season, Georgian Court Cross Country is in the United States Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) regional rankings.
The Lions raced for the first time in three weeks Saturday and on the strength of that performance, Georgian Court is ranked 10th in the East Region. Georgian Court finished in third place at the NJIT Highlander Challenge last Saturday. They had a pair of top-10 performers in
Alec Valle and
Xavier Seals who finished seventh and ninth.
Max Salgado-Vidal set a personal-best for the 8K race and was named the CACC Rookie of the Week.
This is Georgian Court's second week in the rankings this season. The Lions were also ranked 10th following week one in September.
Georgian Court is a member of the East Region along with the rest of the CACC and schools in the East Coast Conference and Northeast-10. Wilmington is the only other CACC school ranked, checking in at number eight. Roberts Wesleyan is a top the rankings followed by Franklin Pierce, Southern Connecticut, Daemen and Bentley in the top-five.
The Lions will get one final race in before the CACC Championship meet. This Saturday they'll run at Dream Park in Logan Township for the Rowan Border Battle.
