STATEN ISLAND, NY (Feb. 24, 2023) - Georgian Court Track and Field sent a little over a dozen athletes to compete at the Fastrack Last Chance Invitational. Georgian Court had three event winners, set a new school record and had another hit an NCAA qualifying mark.
Distance
• 
Xavier Seals claimed the new school record in the 800m. He ran 1:54.97 to win the event and becomes the first Lion to ever run sub 1:55 indoors.
• 
Sean Donnamaria finished in 10th place with a personal-best 2:00.87. 
Dylan Navarro was 16th running 2:02.63
• In the mile, 
Kevin Knoetig led the Lions. He ran 4:36.37 to place 10th. 
Joseph Jamolawicz was 23rd running 5:03.86.
• Three Lion women set personal-bests in the 800m. 
Amirah Beasley broke through running 2:23.39, nearly a five second personal-best. That time was good for ninth in the competition and moved her to fourth all-time at GCU indoors.
• 
Niya Barden moved to eighth all-time at GCU. She ran 2:27.28 to place 15th.
• 
Selma Cazimoska finished 26th overall running 2:45.44, 10 seconds faster than her previous time running this distance.
Throws
• 
Robbie Babson saw a big personal-best in the shot put. On his very first attempt he unleashed a 54-8.25 throw which won the event. That mark is not only an NCAA provisional qualifer, but it moves him up to second all-time on the GCU top-10 indoor list as the second Lion to ever throw the shot put 54 feet.
• Babson wasn't the only shot putter in the building for GCU. 
Elena Keck finished in fifth place for the Lion women. She threw the shot 36-9.25.
Jumps
• 
Shanae Rayside was the winner of the women's triple jump. On her first jump she went 38-10.5 which was kept her in front the duration of the competition.
• In the long jump, 
Aniyah Russell took second place. She had a best mark of 19-1.5.
• On the men's side, 
Jan Volkmar finished in second place in the pole vault. He cleared 16 feet jumping 16-1 and was the top Division II finisher in the meet.
• 
Jeshurun Devero took two attempts at the men's triple jump. His mark of 46-11.75 was good for fifth place before scratching the last four attempts. 
Sprints
• The only sprinter to compete for either the Lion men or women was 
Noah Roach. He ran 22.82 for 200m and finished in 13th place.
The NCAA will make it's selections for the National Championship meet.
