Men's Lacrosse Welcomes Assumption Saturday Afternoon

LAKEWOOD, NJ (March 10, 2023) - Georgian Court Men's Lacrosse is back at home Saturday afternoon for Mental Health Awareness Day.

Mental Health Awareness Day
• Georgian Court is partnering with the GCU Counseling Center to help bring out mental health awareness and educate students, staff and parents that it's okay to not be okay. 
• The GCU Counseling Center will be on hand to provide information.
• Throughout the game, t-shirts will be on sale for $20 with 100% of the proceeds going to the Mental Health Foundation.
• The Mental Health Foundation, a 501c3 non profit dedicated to proactively creating a discrimination free society and specializing in mental health awareness, education, suicide prevention and addiction.

Previously vs. Assumption
• The first and only time GCU and Assumption met was last season in Worcester, MA.
• The Greyhounds, backed by a 6-1 second period got a 15-10 win over the Lions.
• The two teams played even in the first, third, and fourth quarters, but it was the second that made the difference.
• Four Lions scored a pair of goals led by Daniel Burnham who also added two assists.
Tallen Smith tallied two goals and an assist as well.

Last Time Out
• Georgian Court couldn't overcome a 4-1 deficit after the first quarter in an 11-9 loss at Molloy.
• Although GCU did take a lead early in the third, Molloy finished the game outscoring Georgian Court 5-2.
• Daniel Burnham totaled seven points with two goals and five assists.
• Tallen Smith collected three points with a goal and two assists.
• Brett BridgesVincent Giunta and Joe Zerr each scored twice.
• Justin Iannarone was 16-of-23 on face-offs with nine ground balls.
• Vincent Burkhart made 19 saves in goal.

Michael Ventresca is four points away from getting to 100 for his career. He'd be the fourth Lion to hit the century mark.
Joe Murphy needs three caused turnovers for 25.
