SHIPPENSBURG, Pa. (April 19, 2023) - The middle of April usually brings a middle of the week track meet. Georgian Court Track and Field was at the annual Shippensburg Midweek Invitational Wednesday afternoon and evening.
Distance
• The distance runners had a successful afternoon. For the women,
Amirah Beasley set a new personal-best winning the 800m. She ran 2:22.43 which is fifth all-time at GCU.
Niya Barden was eighth in the race at 2:29.14.
• The men had a handful compete in distance races. Starting with the 5,000m,
Alec Valle was second over and improved upon his outdoor personal-best running 15:34.93, which is still second all-time at GCU. Also in the race was
Thomas Rosky who ran 17:51.22 for eighth place.
• For 3,000m,
Kyle Spector and
Joseph Jamolawicz finished back-to-back in fourth and fifth. Spector ran 9:27.15 and Jamolawicz 9:52.52 which is a personal-best.

Xavier Seals ran a pair of races. He was seventh in the 1500m running 4:12.53 and 20th in the 800m at 2:04.11
• Also running 800m were Spector and
Dylan Navarro. Spector finished 10th in 2:00.44 and Navarro was 16th. His time of 2:02.04 was a personal-best.Â
Sprints/Hurdles/Relays
• Starting with the 100m,
Noah Roach was eighth overall in 11.31.Â
• In the hurdles, Michel-Jean Henry was fifth in the 110m high hurdles running 15.68 and sixth running 1:02.46 in the 400m hurdles.
Julian Rodriguez was third in the 400m hurdles finishing in 56.41.
• For the quarter mile,
Sean Donnamaria set a personal-best running 51.76 and finished ninth.
Domenico Darcy wasn't far behind in 11th running 52.21.
• The Lion men put together a 4x100m and 4x400m relay team together. They were third in the 4x100m with the team of Roach, Henry,
Terrell Moore and
Dylan Breen running a season-best 43.18.
• Darcy, Moore, Donnamaria and
Wayne Robinson ran 3:26.82 to finish fifth in the 4x400m.
• On the women's side,
Yanely Bohorquez-Gonzalez led GCU finishing seventh in the 100m running 13.37 and eighth at 200m running 27.48.

Samantha Lonseth also ran both events setting PR's in each. She was 12th at 100m in 14.26 and 26th at 200m in 29.93.
•
Molly Burns competed in the 200m and 400m dashes. She too set PRs in both events running 28.47 for 200 which was 15th and 1:07.19 for 400m which was 16th.
• Also running 400m was
Aaliyah Thorpe. She took 11th pace in 1:01.84.
• In the hurdles,
Jaison-Ashley Pleva had a personal-best 15.57 for fifth place and right behind was
Shalom Adzakro in sixth running 15.95.
•
Selma Cazimoska finished seventh in the 400m hurdles in a personal-best time 1:16.36.
• The 4x100m relay team of Bohorquez-Gonzalez,
Shanae Rayside, Adzakro and
Elena Martinez-Rodriguez won the event in 49.89 which is eighth all-time at GCU.Â
Throws
•
Elena Keck was third overall in the shot put throwing 37-10.5. She was also 14th in the discus at 97-4 and eighth in the hammer throw at 142-2.
•
Sheridan Martinez also competed in two events. She was third in the javelin throwing 120-0 and 12th in the discus at 101-8.
• Ingrid Zuniga-Rivera threw an outdoor personal-best in the shot put. She was 10th overall in 31-1.75.
•
Nina Casalino competed in the javelin throwing 81-11 for 16th place.
•
Robbie Babson threw the shot put and hammer. He was third in the shot throwing 52-2.75 and fifth in the hammer at 148-2.
•
Joseph Sauchelli was second in the javelin throwing 160-11.
Jumps
• Donnmaria also competed in the pole vault. He jumped 12-1.5 which is fourth all-time at GCU.
•
Jeshurun Devero won the triple jump at 46-4.75.
•
Julian Rodriguez was eighth in the high jump clearing 5-8.5.
•
Dylan Breen jumped 21-6.75 in the long jump to place ninth.Â
•
Shanae Rayside won the triple jump at 38-1.5 and
Jaison-Ashley Pleva was fifth at 36-9.75.
•
Aniyah Russell was second in the long jump. She jumped 19-1.5.
• Rayside finished 15th in the long jump at 16-2.5 while
Malama Toure was 10th at 16-11.5 which is a personal-best and tied for seventh all-time.
Elena Martinez-Rodriguez also moved up the all-time list jumping 17-2.25 which is sixth at GCU and good for ninth place.
• In the vertical jumps,
Julia Kirschnick competed in both. She was third in the pole vault jumping 10-11.75 and sixth in the high jump clearing 4-9.75, a personal-best.
• Also in the high jump,
Elena Martinez-Rodriguez was fifth at 4-11 and
Tiffany Parajon eighth at 4-7.5.
• Parajon also cleared a bar in the pole vault. She got over 7-6.5 for 11th place.
Nina Casalino was ninth jumping 9-6.25.
Georgian Court is off this weekend. They'll be in action again next weekend at the Penn Relays and the TCNJ Outdoor Invitational.
