LAKEWOOD, NJ (May 17, 2023) - Georgian Court Softball continues to earn individual awards, this time for their work in the classroom. Five Lions made the 2023 College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-District Team.

The five Lions this year are Brittany Gable, Taylor Lipkins, Adriana Mungo, Jadalynn Rodriguez and Kaitlyn Stufft. This is the second consecutive year Mungo and Stufft have earned the honor. 

The All-District awards, selected by the CSC, recognize top student-athletes for their combined performances on the field and in the classroom. In order to be eligible academically, student-athletes must carry a GPA of 3.50 or greater and be in at least the second year at the current institution. Current graduate student transfers are eligible in their first year. Athletically, student-athletes must be a starter or primary reserve and have competed in at least 50% of the team's contests. 

Gable finished the season playing in 48 games and starting 44. She split time in the middle infield at shortstop and second base. She hit .246 in 114 at bats with eight extra-base hits and 22 runs batted in. She also stole 10 bases and scored 22 runs. Gable is a sophomore Health Sciences major with a 3.88 GPA. 

Lipkins played in 58 games starting them all in center field. She made the All-CACC Second Team after hitting .351 with a .423 on-base percentage. She led the league with 45 stolen bases, a new single-season GCU record. She also led the Lions with 62 runs scored while picking up 68 hits. The junior has a 3.94 GPA in Health Sciences.

Mungo played all 60 games for the Lions appearing at catcher, second base and designated player. She was All-CACC at the catcher position and both NFCA and D2CCA All-Region. Mungo hit .345 this season in a team-high 200 at bats. She collected 23 extra-base hits with 16 doubles, six triples and a home run. Her 51 RBI were top-five in the CACC and second for the Lions. Mungo is a junior studying Accounting with a 3.89 GPA. 

Rodriguez played in 59 games making 58 starts in left field for the Lions. She finished the year hitting .360 with 54 hits and also scored 36 runs while driving in 17. She was second on the team stealing 15 bases and had 11 extra-base hits. Rodriguez has a 3.51 GPA as a junior in exercise science. 

Stufft led the Lion offense with 11 home runs and 64 RBI. Those numbers also led the CACC. She finished the year playing all 60 games as the primary first baseman and hit .379 with a 1.049 OPS. Her 75 hits led GCU and of those, 29 were for extra-bases. Stufft made the All-CACC First Team, along with NFCA and D2CCA All-Region First Team honors. She has a 3.50 GPA as a junior and is a Criminal Justice major. 

All five are now eligible for the CSC Academic All-American Team which will be announced in June.
