NEW HAVEN, Conn. (May 25, 2023) - Georgian Court Lacrosse put 12 student-athletes on the 2023 Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) All-Academic Team.
For the men's side, there were seven Lions:
Daniel Burnham,
Andrew Candino,
Vincent Giunta,
Nicholas Mann,
James Sanford,
Tallen Smith and
Millan Webster.
The women had six make the team:
Madison Battle,
Kasha Elzinga,
Alexis Hahn, Cheyanne Hunsberger,
Talysa Jimenez and
Isabel Raimondi.
Burnham is a graduate student with a 3.94 GPA in Business Administration. He is now a four-time member of the All-Academic team, one of just three CACC men's lacrosse players this season to be a four-time honoree. Candino is also a graduate student with a who had a 3.69 GPA in Business Administration. Giunta is a senior studying Exercise Science with a 3.87 GPA. Mann is a senior in Integrative Health with a 3.57 GPA. Sanford is a sophomore Finance major with a 3.69 GPA. Smith is now a two-time All-Academic Team member. He is a junior with a 3.98 GPA in Accounting. Webster holds a 3.96 GPA in Exercise Science.
Battle is a sophomore with a 3.52 GPA in Business Administration. Elzinga makes her second All-Academic Team as a senior with a 3.90 GPA in Marketing. Hahn is a senior Biology student with a 3.94 GPA. This is her third time making the All-Academic Team. Hunsberger is a senior Nursing student with a 3.61 GPA who is on the team for the second consecutive year. Jimenez joins Hahn as three-time All-Academic selections. She has a 3.72 GPA as a senior studying Social Work. Raimondi has a 3.69 GPA as a Marketing major.
In order to be eligible for the CACC All-Academic Team, student-athletes must meet a certain criteria. They must have completed at least two full semesters at their current institution, whether they are in undergraduate or graduate school. This is different from the College Sports Communicators (CSC, formerly CoSIDA) Academic All-American team where graduate transfers are eligible in their first semester at the new institution. They also need to have a minimum grade point average of 3.50 at the end of the immediate preceding term (may include summer terms).
