LAKEWOOD, NJ (May 4, 2023) - Georgian Court Men's Lacrosse is looking to make history this weekend. The 8-0 Lions are the top seed in the CACC Tournament seeking their third-ever CACC Tournament Championship an first since 2019. It would be their third in the last five season the tournament was held, with the cancelation of the 2020 postseason tournament.

• Earlier this season, Georgian Court used a powerful third quarter to put away the Eagles.
• On senior day, the Lions led just 2-1 after 15 minutes and were up 8-5 at the half.
• In the third, GCU outscored Post 8-2 to take a commanding lead, going on to win by 10, 21-11.

Daniel Burnham scored seven points with three goals and four assists.

Michael Ventresca scored a season-best four goals.
Last Time Out
• The Lions made it a perfect 7-0 CACC regular season defeating Dominican 17-11 on the road.
• The win was also the Lions eight straight, a new team record.
• The score was tied at two in the early going, but the Lions scored four straight to take a 6-2 lead and never looked back.

Individual Milestones

Michael Ventresca is now the first Lion to score 100 career goals and each goal will continue to add to his record. With one more game played, he'll set the Lions all-time record at 73.

Daniel Burnham is also chasing 100 career goals. He's scored 99. Two more assists and he'll set a new single-season assist record as well.
• Burnham and Ventresca have also been going back-and-forth for the career shot record. They are 1-2 all-time. Ventresca got the record first, but Burnham currently has a two shot lead.

Tallen Smith needs four assists to become the third Lion to reach 50 assists.
• One more win and
Vincent Burkhart will set a new GCU single season record for wins.

Kyle Harms' next game will be his 40th.

CACC Tournament History
• Georgian Court has won two CACC Tournament Championships in program history, 2018 and 2019.
• With COVID-10 wiping out the 2020 postseason, GCU has won two of the last four CACC Tournaments.
• Both CACC title games were low-scoring games. GCU won in 2018 9-7 and in 2019 11-10, both over Chestnut Hill.

• The Lions had seven players make the All-CACC Team.

Brett Bridges won the Rookie of the Year award. Just the second Lion ever. He also made the All-CACC First Team.

Post Eagles
• Post had to win the play in game to advance to the semifinal round. They defeated Dominican 12-10.
• At home, Post is 7-3 this season. They'll host the entire CACC Tournament.
• Following their loss at Georgian Court, Post finished the regular season winning five of their last six.
• Post has one of the best man-up offenses in the country, scoring 50% of the time which leads the league and is fifth in Division II.
• They're also one of the most accurate teams, hitting the next on 35% of shots which ranks sixth in the nation.
• Post plays balls on the ground well. They have 527, second only to Georgian Court.
• The Eagles put four on the All-CACC squad. Attack Dylan Held and midfield Braedan Lockyear made the First Team.
