QUEENS, NY (Nov. 26, 2024) - Georgian Court sophomore Gijs van Eif earned an All-East Region nod. The forward was named to the Division II Conference Commissioner's Association (D2CCA) All-East Region Second Team. 

The D2CCA All-Region teams are voted on by the Sports Information Directors in each region. Georgian Court competes in the East Region along with the rest of the CACC teams and the ECC and Northeast-10 Conferences. Van Eif is one of eight players from the CACC to make the All-Region team.

Van Eif is the Lions first All-Region award winner since Louis Silva in 2021 and the sixth different Lion to ever earn All-Region recognition from any organization. 

This season, van Eif was the leading goal scorer for the Lions. He's currently second in the CACC with 14 goals and 30 points. Both of those number also put him in the top-15 nationally and he's seventh in goals. Van Eif is the conference leader in shot accuracy, putting 63.3% of his shots this season on target. Of his 14 goals, nine came in conference play, including one in the CACC Tournament quarterfinals against Goldey-Beacom. He scored 20 of his 30 points against CACC competition. Van Eif scored at least one goal in 12 games and scored at least one point in 13. For a single-season, van Eif's 14 goals and 30 points are third most in GCU history.
