Chelsea Lavezzo Earns D2CCA All-American Honors

LAKEWOOD, NJ (Dec. 10, 2024) - The accolades keep rolling in for Georgian Court freshman Chelsea Lavezzo. Her outstanding 2024 season has earned her the sixth NCAA All-American award in Lions Women's Soccer history.

Lavezzo this afternoon was named to the Division II Conference Commissioner's Association (D2CCA) All-American Second Team. The sixth All-American of any kind for the Lions since moving to NCAA Division II in 2002.

This caps a season that also saw Lavezzo earn the D2CCA East Region Player of the Year, D2CCA All-East Region First Team, CACC Rookie of the Year and All-CACC First Team.

Lavezzo finished her season scoring 17 goals which has her not only leading the CACC, but is fifth nationally and the most among all freshman. She also leads the CACC with 36 points which is 11th in Division II. Lavezzo scored a goal in 10 games this season and had five multi-goal games with a pair of hat tricks. Of Georgian Court's 12 wins this season, Lavezzo hit the game winner in six of them. She was responsible for the game-winning penalty kick in overtime of the CACC Quarterfinal Round match against Bridgeport. As strong of an offensive presence as she was, Lavezzo was also deployed at times as a defender to hold onto a lead in the closing minutes.

Lavezzo is one of just three from the CACC to make the D2CCA All-American Team, and the only offensive player. She is also the only freshman earn D2CCA All-American recognition.
