Georgian Court Hosts Jefferson Saturday Afternoon

LAKEWOOD, NJ (Feb. 23, 2024) - Georgian Court is in the final stretch of the regular season as they welcome Jefferson to the Wellness Center this weekend.

Previously vs. Jefferson
• Last season, these two teams split a home-and-home with the home team winning each game.
• The Lions win over Jefferson was their first in program history over the Rams. They are 1-18 all-time and 1-8 at home.
• Earlier this season, Jefferson picked up a 76-64 win over the Lions in Philadelphia.
• The Rams took a 43-26 lead into the half and despite the Lions outscored Jefferson by five in the second, the Rams still earned the 12-point win.
• Justin Harper led three Lions in double-figures with 15 points.

Last Time Out
• It was another lead that got away from Lions last Saturday against Felician.
• After going into the half trailing by seven, Georgian Court raced back and took a seven-point lead of their own late in the second.
• Georgian Court was still up four with 2:12 to play, but were outscored 7-0 the rest of the way as Felician stole a 68-65 win.
• Clint Wright, Jr. put up 22 points making three three-pointers.

• Hassan Jackson is one rebound away from 100. 
• Taheen Braswell-Brown is five points away from 200. 
• Anthony Rivera needs seven points to get to 200 and two rebounds for 100. 
• Jahsan Johnson is two points away from 50. 

About Jefferson
• Jefferson started off slow but have seemed to found their footing.
• They've clinched a spot in the CACC Tournament and have won five straight. They're still battling for the No. 1 seed in the South Division. 
• Additionally, each of the Rams last five wins have been by 10 or more points. They're last win by less than 10 point was one month ago, Jan. 23, an 88-82 win against Holy Family. 
• The Rams have a two-headed monster in Erik Timko and Antonin Kemkeng. Timko is the Division II active leader in scoring average and this year he's scoring 20.2 points per game and Kemkeng's scoring 15 points with 8.5 rebounds per game. 
• Kemkeng is also in double-figures this season scoring 14.3 points while shooting 62% overall and grabbing 8.9 rebounds per game.
• Jefferson is scoring nearly 84 points per game and their +10.2 scoring margin is the best in the CACC. They also have the top field goal percentage in the league and No. 3 in D2 at 51.6%. 
• The Rams are losing the ball just 12.6 times per game this season and their assist-to-turnover ratio is the best in the conference. 
• In addition to Timko and Kemkeng, Ahmed Barba-Bey is scoring 14.6 points and Hakim Byrd and Bismark Nsiah are both averaging more than 11.
