Lions Softball Heads to Long Island

LAKEWOOD, NJ (March 22, 2024) - With the rain in the rear view mirror, Georgian Court Softball is set to get back on the diamond Sunday afternoon for a nonconference doubleheader.

• Sunday's doubleheader will be streamed live via a free-to-view broadcast on the Molloy portal of the ECC Digital Network, powered by HUDL. Live stats are also available on the Lions Softball schedule page. 

Previously vs. Molloy
• These teams have been annual nonconference foes for the last six seasons (not including the shortened 2020 season).
• The all-time series is deadlocked at 6-6.
• Georgian Court has won three straight including a sweep last year at home, 8-5, 7-6.
Janelle Blaszka got the win in game one after the Lions took a first inning lead and never trailed.
• Blaszka also got the win in game two as Georgian Court scored three in the seventh to walk-off as winners on Brittany Gable's RBI single.

Last Time Out
• Georgian Court continued their nonconference slate against Pace where they were swept 8-3 and 10-2.
• Pace broke a 1-1 tie in the fourth with a four-run inning and tacked on a run each inning after that to take game one.
• Georgian Court helped the Setters out in game two making seven errors in the field. Pace scored two in the first and went on to win 10-2.

CACC Leaders
• Kaitlyn Stufft is sixth in D2 but second in the CACC hitting .537. She also has a CACC best seven home runs, 36 hits and .970 slugging percentage. 
• Cheyenne Jackson has a league-high 19 stolen bases. Her 1.00 walks per game is second in the country. 
Adriana Mungo's 0.45 doubles per game are tops in the league. 
• Georgian Court is second in the CACC in team scoring along with on-base percentage and slugging percentage. 
• GCU's defense has turned a CACC-best 13 double plays and their .953 fielding percentage is third-best. 

Who's Hot
• Kaitlyn Stufft is riding a 10-game hitting streak. She has seven multi-hits games during that streak and was the CACC Player of the Week. 
• Adriana Mungo is 8-14 in her last four games with seven runs scored. 
• Jadalynn Rodriguez has a four game hitting streak and has scored a run in each of her last three games.
Gabriella Aleman has a hit in five of her last six games. 

Individual Milestones
• Janelle Blaszka's next strikeout will be her 100th. 
• Adriana Mungo needs two runs to make it into the Lions all-time top-five.
• Cheyenne Jackson needs one stolen base to get to 20. Four will put her in the Lions single-season top-10. 
Kaitlyn Stufft is two home runs away from becoming just the third Lion to ever hit 40. She's also 10 hits short of 200.
