East Stroudsburg Warriors
• East Stroudsburg is one of the hottest teams in the region, winners of seven straight and sitting at 10-4.
• The Warriors are yet to be beaten at home at 6-0 following doubleheader sweeps of Holy Family, St. Thomas Aquinas and Molloy.
• ESU finished last season at 44-19 and 24-8 in the PSAC. Although they dropped the PSAC Tournament final, the Warriors advanced through the Atlantic Region making the NCAA Elite Eight where they finished 1-2.
• In the PSAC East Preseason Poll, ESU was picked to finish first with five first-place votes.
• Returning to the lineup from the 2023 Elite Team are three of the four members of the infield, one outfielder, their designated player/catcher.Â
• One of the most important pieces to return is ace Paige Zigmund who went 26-6 last year making the All-Region Team. So far this season she's thrown 44 innings with a 1.91 ERA and a 6-1 record. She's struck out 43 while allowing just 10 walks.
• Sarah Davenport has proven to be a capable No. 2 behind Zigmung. She's 4-2 this season in 35 innings with a 2.20 ERA and 50 strikeouts against just eight walks.
• ESU is hitting .296 as a team led by Denva Shaw-Tait. The New Zealand native is hitting .423. Jada Smallwood's 10 RBI are a team-best and Reilly Vicendese has collected 20 hits.
