Men's Lacrosse Finishes Non-Conference Schedule at Molloy

LAKEWOOD, NJ (April 16, 2024) - There's just two games left in the season for Georgian Court Men's Lacrosse who play their penultimate game tomorrow under the lights.

Previously vs. Molloy
• These regional foes have an extensive history having met each year in Georgian Court's existence.
• All-time GCU is 3-5 against Molloy.
• Georgian Court had won three straight over their Lion counterparts, but Molloy picked up an 11-9 win last season, also in Rockville Centre.
• GCU led by one, 7-6, midway through the third, but Molloy outscored them 5-2 the rest of the way.
Vincent Burkhart made 19 saves.
Daniel Burnham totaled seven points with two goals and five assists. 

Last Time Out
• The Lions gave CACC leaders Wilmington all they had over the weekend, but came up a bit short 17-14.
• Georgian Court led 6-5, but Wilmington scored the last three in the second quarter and first three in the third to get ahead 11-6.
• The Lions stormed back and got to within two on a couple of occasions, but that's as close as they got before Wilmington capped it with a goal in the final minute for the win.
Tallen Smith scored five goals.
Vincent Burkhart made 17 saves.  

CACC Leaders (Based on NCAA Statistics)
• Brett Bridges is third in the CACC scoring 3.0 goals per game. His eight man-up goals leads the league and is sixth nationally. 
• Doug Mackenzie is also racking up the power play goals. He has six which is third in the league and 20th in the nation.
• Vincent Burkhart is third in the league making 12.0 saves per game. He's also fourth in save percentage, 53.0% and third in goals against average, 11.40.
• Garrett Kenny is fourth in the league winning 56.6% of his faceoffs. The Lions as a team are winning 56.7% which is second.
• Justin Iannarone is winning 66.7% and would be leading the conference if he had enough attempts to qualify. 
• Offensively, GCU has the third best man-up offense converting 46.5% of their opportunities. That number is also sixth in the country.
• The Lions 14.21 goals per game is the second-most in the league this season and their 316 total points is first and 10th nationally.

Playoff Picture
• Georgian Court has just one more CACC games left on the docket. At 5-2 they are the first team to play seven league games.
• Georgian Court is currently in third place behind 6-0 Wilmington and 4-1 Chestnut Hill. 
• The top five teams all make the CACC postseason with the top-three getting a bye into the semifinals.
• The No. 1 and 2 seeds will host a semifinal round game ahead of the championship game played at Dominican.
