LAKEWOOD, NJ (Oct. 16, 2025) – Georgian Court Director of Athletics Dan Sempkowski has announced the promotion of
Magdeline Gigliotti to Head Coach of Lions Acrobatics and Tumbling. This came following an extensive search where Gigliotti stood out during the hiring process.
Gigliotti, a 2024 graduate of Fairmont State, where she was a four-year member of the Falcons Acrobatics and Tumbling team. Upon graduation, Gigliotti joined Georgian Court as an Assistant Coach for the 2024-25 season.
"Coach Gigliotti played a major role in the success and improvement of the team last year," said Sempkowski. "We're confident in her ability to build on that success and lead this team into the future. She is someone who fits the values of Georgian Court University and has already shown a commitment to building up students not just to be better athletes, but people as well. Her local ties to gyms in New Jersey will be a significant help to recruiting the best from our area, but she also has made connections as a student-athlete and coach to bring in talent from outside the state."
As an assistant with the Lions last year, Gigliotti helped GCU to vast improvements in team and individual scores. The Lions won three matches a year ago, setting numerous team records in the process. That includes scoring above 200 team points for the first time, and reaching 200 in each of the last four meets.
While competing at Fairmont State, Gigliotti was a base and a tumbler for the Falcons. She was a part of three teams that advanced to the NCATA National Championship meet and two Mountain East Conference Championships.
"I couldn't be more excited to take on the role of Head Coach and continue working with the amazing student athletes at Georgian Court," said Gigliotti. "I am grateful for the opportunity that the search committee and Athletic Director, Dan Sempkowski have given me in offering me this position. The Georgian Court community is a close-knit family, and I am lucky to continue the growth of this program with so much support. I am excited to hit the ground running in our third competitive season!"
In addition to her time competing and coaching Acrobatics and Tumbling, Gigliotti also has extensive experience as a Gymnastics Coach at TNT Elite Gymnastics where she taught fundamental gymnastics skills to young athletes from 2016-2024.
Gigliotti has continued her coaching education attending the 2024 and 2025 NCATA Summit and was selected for the Proper Progression Program which is the organizations program designed to help graduating student-athletes transition into coaching. She is also a member of WeCoach, a Women's Coaches Organization, attending the 2022, 2023, and 2024 "Catch a Vision" Aspiring Women in Coaching Workshops.
During the interview process, Gigliotti remained on staff as an assistant coach and facilitated all practice and recruiting efforts since the beginning of the 2025-26 academic year. Her official start date is Oct. 16 and all Georgian Court Acrobatic and Tumbling questions can be directed to Gigliotti at
