NEW HAVEN, Conn. (Oct. 21, 2025) - The CACC announced their 2025-26 Men's Basketball Preseason Coaches Poll Tuesday afternoon. Ahead of the upcoming season, Georgian Court came in 10th in the poll.
The CACC Preseason Poll was voted on by the league's head coaches. Teams are not allowed to vote for themselves.
Georgian Court received 21 points in the poll. Dominican sits atop the poll with 89 points. They received five first-place votes. Jefferson is second ahead of Post, Bridgeport and Caldwell in the top-five.
The CACC features 11 teams for the 2025-26 season as Bloomfield transitioned out of NCAA Division II. New this season, the league has done away with the North and South Division format. Standings will be listed 1-11 with the top eight teams making the CACC Tournament. Also new, teams will face all opponents twice, once at home and once on the road during the regular season.Â
The Lions bring back a large chunk of their 2024-25 roster, led by All-CACC First Team selection
Cam Edmonds. Edmonds averaged a league-high 23.8 points per game last year. Also returning for the Lions are
Donavin Crawford,
Justin Soranno,
Taheen Braswell-Brown and
Anthony Gooden who all made at least 12 starts last season. The team will get an additional boost from a returning
Anthony Rivera who started 16 games in 2023-24 and shot 55.3% overall, but missed all of last season.Â
Under second-year head coach
Dave Fedor, the Lions have their largest roster in team history. This year's squad features 24 members. There are 13 new faces, including seven freshmen, to go along with 11 returners.
The season gets started officially November 14 with GCU taking on St. Thomas Aquinas. They'll play their first home game one day later, November 15, against Saint Michael's. Their first of a 20-game CACC schedule starts December 3 at Holy Family. The schedule also features a pair of Division I exhibition games, November 3 at William and Mary and December 9 at Temple.Â
