NEW HAVEN, Conn. (Oct. 6, 2025) - Georgian Court Men's Soccer went 2-0 last week, and to the victors, go the spoils. The spoils in this case being Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) weekly awards with Gijs van Eif named the Player of the Week and Ayendi Batista the Goalie of the Week.

This is van Eif's second straight Player of the Week award after not having any in his career before last week. Georgian Court scored four goals on the week with van Eif playing a part in all four. He scored three of the four including a brace in a 2-0 win against Chestnut Hill. He picked up the first goal of the game Saturday against Caldwell and had an assist on the second.

For Batista, a senior, this is his first CACC Goalie of the Week honor of the season. He also earned one in 2024. Last week Batista made 12 saves, including seven in a shutout win over Chestnut Hill, his second shutout of the season. He also got the win in a 2-1 victory over Caldwell. The only goal conceded came on a penalty kick. That gave Batista a .923 save percentage for the week and 0.50 goals against average.

Georgian Court has won three straight matches, the longest current win streak in the CACC. They'll have some time off though as they're idle this week. The next time Georgian Court suits up will be next Wednesday, Oct. 15 at Wilmington.
