INDIANAPOLIS (Dec. 16, 2025) - This afternoon the College Sports Communicators Academic All-District Team was released with the CSC recognizing volleyball student-athletes who excelled in the classroom and on the court. Georgian Court had a pair make the team in graduate student
Emma Gildea and sophomore
Emily Hauptvogel.
The 2025 Academic All-District® Volleyball Team, selected by College Sports Communicators, recognizes the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the field and in the classroom. The CSC Academic All-America® program separately recognizes honorees in four divisions — NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III and NAIA.
The CSC requires both academic and athletic standards to maintain to be eligible for the Academic All-District Team. Student-athletes must have at least a cumulative GPA of 3.50 and be of sophomore or high academic standing. Nominees must have also competed in 90% of an institutions games or started at least 66% of games.Â
Gildea is in her first year of graduate school and fifth year overall with Georgian Court. This season, she played and started in 23 games for GCU. She set a new career-high averaging 0.69 blocks per set. For the season, Gildea hit 72 kills and .192 with 59 total blocks. The Business Administration major graduated with a 3.84 undergrad GPA and through her first semester in graduate school has a 3.86 GPA working towards her MBA.Â
Hauptvogel is a sophomore who appeared in 25 games and made 14 starts. She provided a lot of versatility for the Lions as an outside hitter, middle hitter and right side. Hauptvogel broke out on the court with 114 kills and hit .089 with 96 digs and 22 blocks. She more than doubled her points per set from her freshman season, finishing with 1.83. The Marketing major from Lacey, NJ has a 3.66 grade point average.Â
