• The women placed 11th overall.
About the Indoor Season
• While there are many similarities between the indoor and outdoor seasons, there are some key differences.
• The first is the track itself. Outdoors is a consistent 400m flat track. Indoor tracks vary in size and shape.
• The track at OceanBreeze in Staten Island is a 200m banked track.
• Events also undergo some change. The short sprints get even shorter as the 100m dash and hurdles drops to 60m.
• On the other end of the spectrum, there is no 10,000m race.
• There are only two throwing events as the discus, hammer throw and javelin are outdoor only events. Throwers only compete in the shot put and weight throw.
Who's Back For the Lions?
• The men's team returns a lot of talent from a squad that finished second outdoors at the CACC Championship meet.
• The throwers bring a healthy squad back with
Guius Dabney,
Malicah Etienne,
Mark Linton,
Anthony Lorenzo and
Thomas Menegus.
• During the cross country season, Georgian Court exceeded expectations and they'll be helped out by a returning
Nolan Kus.
• GCU has experienced jumpers in
Matthew Sutton in the horizontal jumps and
Ivan Ramos-Lopez in the pole vault.
• The sprinters are headlined by returners
Brandon Rudder and
Marcos Murillo-Benavides. They'll be joined by
Sean Donnamaria,
Nick Jordan,
James McCoy,
Abdul Brown and
Joshua Tipaldo.
• Georgian Court's women provide a lot of versatility both in their returners and newcomers.
Tishanna Cohen and
Jewel Pierrecharles each proved they could perform in the sprinting and jumps events.
• Speaking of jumpers, the Lions welcome back
Shalom Adzakro who missed all of 2024-25, but is an experienced hurdler and horizontal jumper.
• The vertical jumps are again held down by
Juliana Dogostino while
Molly Burns and
Leela McConnell are veterans in the sprints.
•
Brenna Sullivan leads the returning distance crew along with
Kerry Ann Hohenshilt and
Samantha Lonseth.
• The Lions bring back throwers
Kaydence Fischer,
Adrianna Fodera and
Chiamaka Wokocha.
Who's New?
• Georgian Court has promising freshman and newcomers across the board.
• The men's throwers get a big left from transfers
Cameren Anderson and
Amir Spruell-Everson.
•
Gary Boyd, Jr. is a sophomore transfer who could be used in the sprints, jumps and hurdles.
• The Lion men added to their sprint and jumps depth with freshmen
Brian Kutney,
Shona Mutokuto,
Chuck Smith and
Barone Vankline.
Stephen Lane who raced during the cross country season will compete in the mid-distance events.
• GCU didn't bring in any transfers on the women's side but added a lot of talented freshman. We already saw freshman
Sophia Mauro during cross country as she earned All-CACC honors at the conference meet.
Nora Sprunger wasn't far behind Mauro.
•
Daizhae' Brown,
Stephanie Rodas Sigurlaug Sveinsdottir are three who can compete anywhere from sprints to hurdles to jumps to throws.
• The Lions also brought in freshman pole vaulter
Sydney Hurley.
The Indoor Schedule
• Georgian Court will compete at OceanBreeze in Staten Island in five of seven meets this season, including the ECC Championship meet.
• The other two races are the Franklin and Marshall Invitational and the Alvernia PLEX Shootout.
• Tomorrow's meet is the only one GCU will compete in before the New Year. They return to the track January 16, 2026 for the NYC Gotham Cup.
• The ECC Championship meet, held at OceanBreeze takes place Sunday, February 15, 2026.
