Men's Lacrosse Alters Season Opener, Host Adelphi Tuesday Afternoon

LAKEWOOD, NJ (Feb. 10, 2025) - With the impending snow storm in the forecast, Georgian Court Men's Lacrosse is pushing up the start of their 2025 season. The Lions will now host Adelphi in their season opener Tuesday afternoon, February 11.

How to Watch
• Tuesday's game will be broadcast live via a free-to-view stream on the Georgian Court portal of the CACC Digital Network. Fans can also follow along live stats at the link provided above.

Previously vs. Adelphi
• This will be the fourth straight season that Georgian Court and Adelphi meet.
• The Panthers are typically a powerhouse regionally and locally coming out of the Northeast-10 Conference.
• All-time, GCU is 0-3 against the Panthers.
• Last year, the Lions had their best offensive output against the Panthers scoring eight goals, but fell 19-8.
• Georgian Court got two goals apiece from Matt Dorrian and Brett Bridges. 

Last Time Out
• The 2024 season ended in the CACC semifinals, 12-5 at Chestnut Hill.
• GCU got down early, 6-1 after the first quarter.
• Millan Webster tallied three goals and James Sanford scored the other two.

Individual Milestones
• Three more goals will get Vincent Burns to 25 in his career and Tyler Burns needs two.
• Three caused turnovers will get Joe Murphy to 40, something only three other Lions have ever done. 
• Doug Mackenzie is two points away from 50. 
• Joe Zerr is three goals shy of 50.
• Brett Bridges needs three goals to move to fourth all-time at GCU.

All-CACC Returners
• The Lions had five All-CACC sections and three of them are back for the 2025 season. 
• First-Team selection Kyle Harms and Second Teamer Tallen Smith are the only ones of the group who won't be suiting up this season. 
• Brett Bridges who made the First Team returns for his junior campaign. 
• Also back are All-CACC Second Team selections Vincent Burkhart and Joe Murphy. 

About the Opponent
Adelphi Panthers

• When all was said and done in 2024, Adelphi was the final team standing.
• The defending NCAA Champions kick off their season against Georgian Court.
• The Panthers were picked to repeat as NE10 Champions in the preseason poll.
• The biggest returner for the Panthers is between the pipes. Dylan Renner, last season's National Player of the Year is back for his final season.
• AU also has three of their top five scorers from 2024 back in the fold after a 17-2 season and perfect 9-0 NE10 campaign. 
• The USILA preseason poll put the Panthers right back at the top to start the 2025.
• They also saw six make the preseason All-American team headlined by Renner and Kyle Lewis on the First Team.
