Another Tough Test in Front of Men's Lacrosse Who Host No. 11 Mercy

LAKEWOOD, NJ (Feb. 17, 2025) - Georgian Court Men's Lacrosse has another tall task ahead of them this week. They welcome No. 11 Mercy to Lakewood.

Previously vs. Mercy
• Georgian Court has played Mercy every year since the programs inception in 2016.
• This marks the 10th game played between the two and the Lions are still in search of their first win.
• The Lions have failed to score 10 goals in any game, but did get nine at Mercy last season, their most ever against the Mavericks.
• Of the nine games played, eight have been decided by 10 or more goals. They closest game in an 8-6 loss in 2019.
Tallen Smith tallied four goals last season for the Lions.

Last Time Out
• Georgian Court opened their season with the defending national champion Adelphi Panthers last week.
• Adelphi scored four in the first and cruised to a 19-6 win.
Harrison Jordan and Joe Zerr each scored twice.

Individual Milestones
• Three more goals will get Vincent Burns to 25 in his career and Tyler Burns needs two.
Joe Murphy's next game played will be his 50th. He also needs just one caused turnovers to reach 40, something only three other Lions have ever done. 
• Doug Mackenzie is two points away from 50. 
• Joe Zerr is one goal shy of 50.
• Brett Bridges needs three goals to move to fourth all-time at GCU.
• Milan Webster's next goal will be his 20th. 

All-CACC Returners
• The Lions had five All-CACC sections and three of them are back for the 2025 season. 
• First-Team selection Kyle Harms and Second Teamer Tallen Smith are the only ones of the group who won't be suiting up this season. 
• Brett Bridges who made the First Team returns for his junior campaign. 
• Also back are All-CACC Second Team selections Vincent Burkhart and Joe Murphy

About the Opponent
Mercy Mavericks

• Mercy qualified for their fifth straight NCAA Champions Tournament a year ago, but were ousted in the first round by Saint Anselm, 14-11.
• The Mavericks ran roughshod over the ECC, going a perfect 6-0 during the regular season and then winning the tournament with a 19-11 win in the semifinals over Molloy and an 18-5 win over Frostburg State in the finals. 
• Mercy, like Georgian Court, has played one game so far this season. They're 1-0 after a 17-5 win vs. Franklin Pierce last Saturday.
• The Mavericks are ranked 11th in the preseason poll after starting the year ranked ninth.
• Devon Duchnowski leads the team as a preseason All-American Second team selection at midfield.
• In the Mavericks win over Franklin Pierce, Jimmy Osorio totaled 10 points with five goals and five assists.
• Mercy also returns last season's starting goalkeeper Cameron Dorfman who was 10-2 a year ago with an 8.86 goals against average and .569 save percentage.
