Softball Starts Weekend Early at St. Thomas Aquinas

LAKEWOOD, NJ (March 13, 2025) - Georgian Court Softball is back from their spring break trip and look to keep up the momentum from their doubleheader sweep on Monday.

How to Watch

Previously vs. St. Thomas Aquinas
• Georgian Court has had tremendous success against STAC dating back to their first meeting in 1998.
• They've gone 11-1 against the Spartans. Their last meeting came back in 2021 and a split doubleheader was the Lions first loss.
• There are no current Lions who have played against STAC. 
• In that doubleheader split, GCU won game one 8-2, pounding out 14 hits, four for extra bases. 
• Game two the Lions led 2-0 but STAC grabbed a run in the sixth and a two-out walk-off two-run home run in the seventh for the win. 

Last Time Out
• Georgian Court wrapped up their spring break trip with a sweep at Virginia Union.
• It was the Lions first doubleheader sweep of the season. 
• GCU won 10-8 and 3-1. 
Janelle Blaszka pitched nine total innings and allowed just one run with nine strikeouts. 
• Each of the Lions last four games were decided by two runs or less and they went 3-1. 

Individual Milestones
• One more win will get Janelle Blaszka to 30. Just the eighth Lion in the NCAA era to reach that total.
Cheyenne Jackson needs three hits for 40.

Janelle Blaszka is third in the CACC in strikeouts per seven innings.
Kaylin Curro sits third in the league in triples. She's also leading not just the CACC but the NCAA in triples per game.
• Curro, Cheyenne Jackson and Reagan Winn are all in the top-10 in slugging percentage. 
• The Lions defense is second in the CACC with four double plays turned.
• Georgian Court is tops in the league in scoring offense at 4.9 runs per game.
