CACC Play Rolls on For Lions Baseball Against Bloomfield

LAKEWOOD, NJ (March 21, 2025) - Georgian Court Baseball plays a doubleheader at Bloomfield this weekend, but once again has to alter their home schedule. Their doubleheader with the Bears scheduled for Sunday, March 23 is postponed with a make up date to be announced at a later date.

CACC Action
• Georgian Court plays in the CACC North Division, as opposed to the South like they do in Basketball and Volleyball.
• The CACC schedules inter-division games as weekend doubleheaders, Saturday and Sunday, with each team playing a home and away doubleheader.
• Out of division doubleheaders, like Tuesday vs. Goldey-Beacom, are a single doubleheader played during the week.

• Georgian Court played their first midweek CACC doubleheader earlier this week.
• They traveled to Delaware for two with Goldey-Beacom.
• The Lightning got up early on the Lions and swept the DH, 14-2 (7 innings) and 9-2.

Jack Greenspan has jumped to sixth in the league hitting .421.

Bloomfield Bears

• Bloomfield was picked to finish behind the Lions in the 2025 CACC preseason coaches poll.
• Thus far they're 0-11 and 0-2 in CACC play.
• They nearly picked up a win earlier in the week at Holy Family, falling 11-10. 
• So far they've been outscored 167-23.
• Offense has been a problem for Bloomfield, hitting just .165.
• Franny Medina leads the team with a .250 average.

Head Coach Arlan Freeman
• Coach Freeman is in his 15th season of collegiate coaching and seventh as a head coach. He Georgian Court is the second program he has started from the ground up, doing the same at St. Elizabeth University in Morristown, NJ.
• That came after his first head coaching stint at New Paltz, where he was head coach for two season, earning the SUNYAC Coach of the Year award
• He has spent time as an assistant coach at NCAA Division II Universities, Barry, Lynn and Felician and Division III Stevens Institue of Technology. 
• Freeman has also worked professionally within the Cape Cod League. 

Baseball at Georgian Court
• With the start of the Baseball season, Georgian Court now sponsors 16 sports, seven men's and nine women's.
Men's Sports: Baseball, Basketball, Cross Country, Lacrosse, Soccer, I/O Track and Field
Women's Sports: Acrobatics and Tumbling, Basketball, Cross Country, Lacrosse, Soccer, Softball, I/O Track and Field, Volleyball

Inaugural Schedule
• The first eight games Georgian Court will play this year will all be on the road, against six different teams.
• Following their series against Erskine, GCU will play single games with Staten Island, West Virginia Wesleyan, New Haven, Lynn and Bentley.
• The Lions first ever home game will coincide with their first ever conference game. They host Post Saturday, March 15 at the Jackson Justice Complex.
• The CACC is split into two divisions, North and South, much like Basketball and Volleyball. However unlike Basketball and Volleyball, the Lions will compete in the CACC North Division this season.
• Georgian Court has 50 games on their schedule, 18 at home and 32 on the road. Of the 50, 36 are conference games.
