Men's Lacrosse Hosts Chestnut Hill in a Battle of CACC Unbeatens

LAKEWOOD, NJ (April 1, 2025) - There's three unbeaten teams left in the CACC and two of them meet Wednesday in Lakewood.

Previously vs. Chestnut Hill
• This has developed into a terrific CACC rivalry.
• Outside of the 2020 and 2021 COVID-19 affected seasons, they've met in the CACC postseason each of the last five seasons.
• Of late, the Griffins have gotten the better of the Lions winning three straight. CHC is 9-4 against GCU all-time.
• The Griffins are known for low-scoring games, and their affairs with the Lions have been no different. Just four times in 13 games have both teams scoring in double-figures.
• Chestnut Hill defeated the Lions twice last season in Philadelphia. The regular season season match up saw the Griffins jump out to a 4-0 lead. GCU clawed back to within one, 8-7, but Chestnut Hill put it away 9-7.
• In the post season, Chestnut Hill led 6-1 after the first quarter and clamped down defensively on their way to a 12-5 win and a berth in the CACC Championship game.
Millan Webster scored three times in the postseason game. 

Last Time Out
• The Lions got back in the win column with a 14-10 win over CACC foe Post.
• Tied at seven in the third, GCU scored five straight to pull away for good.
Doug Mackenzie and Brett Bridges each scored four goals.
Vincent Burkhart made 15 saves. 

Individual Milestones
• Vincent Burns needs four points for 50.
• Daniel Devitt needs to ground balls for 50 and Malik Alzubi is two away from 30. 
Matt Dorrian needs one goal to reach 30. 
• Harrison Jordan's next game will be his 30th. Joe Murphy and Michael Schone will each play their 60th and Brett Bridges his 50th. 
• Max Dennington needs one more caused turnovers to set a new program record.
• James Sanford needs two points for 75. One assist will bring him into a tie for seventh all-time. 
• With four points Doug Mackenzie will crack the Lions all-time top-10 for points scored. 

Who's Hot?
• Vincent Burkhart has made 28 saves in his last two games with a save percentage above .500. 
• Matt Dorrian has at least a goal and an assist in four straight games. 
Brett Bridges has 11 goals in his last three games. 
• Malik Alzubi has eight ground balls and six caused turnovers in his last three games. 
Stephen Albanese won a season-high 14 faceoffs against Post. 
Harrison Jordan has points in nine straight games and nine points in his last three.

• The Lions offense is third in the CACC in points and goals and second in assists. 
• The defense is second with 119 caused turnovers and third in opponent clear percentage. 
• GCU is leading the league in man-up offense scoring 41.7% of the time on the power play. They're also fourth on the penalty kill. 

About the Opponent
Chestnut Hill Griffins

• Like Georgian Court, Chestnut Hill is also 3-0 in the CACC. They too are battle tested with two ranked opponents and a trip to Molloy early in the season who wasn't yet ranked.
• The Griffins have been playing well of late, winning their last three games.
• Chestnut Hill is a -1 in goal differential allowing 70 in seven games and having scored 69.
• Always a defense first team, CHC is getting strong goalkeeper play from Adam Daley who has a 55.7% save percentage allowing 10 goals per game.
• CHC has really struggled on the draw winning just 33% of all faceoffs this season.
• They are forcing teams into almost 18 turnovers per game.
• Mick Kilgallon is the team's leading scorer with 14 goals and 11 assists.
• Sam Slater has scored 14 times as well on just 29 shots.
