SHIPPENSBURG, Pa. (April 16, 2025) - Georgian Court Track and Field got their work in early this week, competing Wednesday at the Shippensburg PR Bonanza. While the meet name didn't entirely live up to the name, GCU still had some strong performances across the board.
Distance
• It was a great day for senior
Amirah Beasley. She set a new personal-best in the 1500m running 4:55.38 for second overall which places her second all-time at Georgian Court.
•
Jurnee Tuttle also ran the event and was 10th in 5:39.63.
•
Brenna Sullivan etched her name into the all-time record books. Her ninth place finish and time of 21:32.56 in the 5K puts her 10th all-time at GCU.
•
Samantha Lonseth was the only Lion on the women's side to run the 800m. She had a personal-best time finishing 17th in 3:02.22.
• The men's distance team only competed in the 800m and 1500m races.
Nolan Kus had a top-10 finish in the 1500m running 4:28.97 for eighth place. Kus was also 20th at 800m running 2:10.07.
•
Joe Jamolawicz and
Matthew Schaub were back-to-back in 12th and 13th running 4:35.84 and 4:41.02, respectively.
•
Zachary Spoonire took 12th place in the 800m running 2:07.12. He also tried his hand at the 400m running 53.09 for 12th place.
• The 4x400m relay team of Spoonire, Jamolawicz, Schaub and
Luke McCormick took seventh running 3:45.26.
Jumps
•
Julian Rodriguez took third place in the pole vault. He cleared 14-3.25.
• GCU had two in the top-10 of the women's triple jump.
Tishanna Cohen was fourth jumping 34-11.75 and
Jewel Pierrecharles sixth jumping 35-9.25.
• Cohen also competed in the long jump where she was 11th with her mark of 15-10.25, an outdoor personal-best.
•
Juliana Dogostino got over the bar at 4-7 in the high jump for 10th place.
Sprints
• Pierrecharles also ran the 100m and finished 10th in 13.25.
•
Leela McConnell was 10th in the 100m at 13.73 and 14th in the 200m at 28.71.
•
Molly Burns ran the 400m in 1:03.89 for third place.
• Wayne Robinson had two top-five finishes. He was third in the 200m running 22.77 and fourth at 400m in 51.47.
•
Brandon Rudder did the 200m/400m double as well running 22.83 for fourth at 200m and 52.01 for eighth at 400m.
•
Nick Jordan and
Joshua Tipaldo each ran the 100m and 200m. Jordan ran 11.80 for 21st in the 100m and 24.34 for 24th in the 200m. Tipaldo took 28th in the 100m at 12.43, a personal-best time. He was 39th in the 200m running 26.74.
•
Marcos Murillo-Benavides competed in the 400m running 52.91 for 10th place.
Throws
•
Mark Linton and
Malicah Etienne took second and third in the discus throw. Linton was second throwing 165-1, a personal-best and second all-time at GCU. That mark is second only to Etienne, who was third in this meet throwing 158-11.
• Linton was also fourth in the hammer throw at 161-5. Etienne was fourth in the shot put at 51-2.75.
• For the first time this season,
Robbie Babson did not win the shot put. He finished second throwing 52-4.5. Babson was also sixth in the hammer throw at 155-1.
•
Guius Dabney hit a personal-best in the shot put throwing 43-0.25 for 11th place. He was also 25th in the hammer throw at 103-10.
•
Anthony Lorenzo took 15th in the shot put throwing 40-3.50.
•
Ava Reardon had the highest place finish among the women's throwers. She was fifth in the javelin throwing 120-3.
•
Chiamaka Wokocha set a personal-best in the discus. She threw 124-2 for ninth place. She was eighth in the hammer at 134-10.
•
Kaydence Fischer threw in three throwing events. She was sixth in the discus at 130-10, 12th in the shot put at 35-10.75 and 25th in the hammer at 89-4.
•
Adrianna Fodera was one spot behind Fischer in the shot put throwing 35-9.25 for 13th place. She threw the hammer too and took 15th at a mark of 114-8.
•
Sabrina Halk finished 14th in the discus throwing 98-9 and 20th in the hammer throw at 101-2.
Georgian Court is off for the weekend. They're back in action next week with some competing at the historic Penn Relays and others at the TCNJ Invitational.Â
