Georgian Court Baseball Rolls on Over the Easter Holiday

LAKEWOOD, NJ (April 17, 2025) - Georgian Court has been going pedal to the metal lately and there's no slowing down with three more doubleheaders in four days.

ShoreTown Park Information
• Admission to Georgian Court vs. Felician at ShoreTown Park is free.
• Gates open to fans at 12 pm. 

CACC Action
• Georgian Court plays in the CACC North Division, as opposed to the South like they do in Basketball and Volleyball.
• The CACC schedules inter-division games as weekend doubleheaders, Saturday and Sunday, with each team playing a home and away doubleheader.
• Out of division doubleheaders, are a single doubleheader played during the week. 

Last Time Out
• Georgian Court wrapped up a six-game in three-day frenzy, finishing 3-3.
• They split with Caldwell on the road, swept Lincoln at home then were swept by Caldwell at home. 

Who's Hot?
• Israel Garcia has a four game hitting streak with six runs, a double, home run and five RBI. 
• Jack Greenspan had another three-hit game in game two vs. Caldwell. 
• Oliver Santana has a hit in seven of his last eight and 12 of his last 14 games played. He's driven in at least one run in five of his last six as well. 
Alex Elliott is hitting .375 over his last five games.
Ryan Bilello went 6.2 innings in his longest start of the season against Caldwell allowing just two runs.
Joseph Voli threw a complete game and got the win at Caldwell back on Monday. 

CACC Leaders
• Israel Garcia leads the league in both slugging percentage and OPS. 
• Carter Rieben is second in hit by pitches with 21. That's also seventh-most in the country. 
• Oliver Santana's three triples are tied for fourth in the league. 
Alex Elliott is the third toughest to strikeout in the league, averaging one every 10.6 at bats.

About the Opponents
Felician Golden Falcons

• Felician is nearing another playoff berth sitting at 16-8 in the CACC this season.
• They're 22-15 overall and 9-7 at home and 10-7 on the road.
• The Golden Falcons have one of the best pitching staffs in the CACC, ranking second with a 4.46 team ERA.
• Max Weber is 6-1 on the year with a 2.40 ERA and 61 strikeouts in 45 innings. 
• They have a strong bullpen as well led by Bryan Rios who has a 2.30 ERA in 11 games and 15.2 innings along with Gavin Enright who has two saves and a 2.57 ERA.
• The team is hitting .290 overall and can really mash with 71 doubles, 16 triples and 19 RBI.
• They also run the bases well stealing 80 on the season.
• Rocko Brzezniak is hitting .426 with three home runs and 21 RBI. He's also a perfect 12-12 stealing bases.
• The Golden Falcons have made 57 errors on the season and have a .955 fielding percentage.

Chestnut Hill Griffins
• While Chestnut Hill is 18-15 and 13-9 in the CACC as of writing this, they do have four more games to play before welcoming Georgian Court.
• They're in a good position in the CACC South Division to clinch a playoff spot.
• The Griffins are pretty middle of the pack in the CACC. in most statistical categories.
• Surprisingly, Chestnut Hill has only used 12 pitchers this season and just seven have started a game.
• Colby Seelig has been outstanding out of the bullpen though. He's seen action in 17 games and nearly leads the team with 42 innings and has a 2.57 ERA with 43 strikeouts.
• Jason Kelly has started eight games and opponents are hitting just .194 against him. 
• The Griffins are eighth hitting .288, but just 11th in the CACC having scoring 196 runs.
• Michael Benedetto III gets the offense going hitting .355 and is 16-17 in the stolen base department.
• The Griffins have swiped 94 bags on the season.

Head Coach Arlan Freeman
• Coach Freeman is in his 15th season of collegiate coaching and seventh as a head coach. He Georgian Court is the second program he has started from the ground up, doing the same at St. Elizabeth University in Morristown, NJ.
• That came after his first head coaching stint at New Paltz, where he was head coach for two season, earning the SUNYAC Coach of the Year award
• He has spent time as an assistant coach at NCAA Division II Universities, Barry, Lynn and Felician and Division III Stevens Institue of Technology. 
• Freeman has also worked professionally within the Cape Cod League. 

Baseball at Georgian Court
• With the start of the Baseball season, Georgian Court now sponsors 16 sports, seven men's and nine women's.

Women's Sports: Acrobatics and Tumbling, Basketball, Cross Country, Lacrosse, Soccer, Softball, I/O Track and Field, Volleyball

Inaugural Schedule
• The first eight games Georgian Court will play this year will all be on the road, against six different teams.
• Following their series against Erskine, GCU will play single games with Staten Island, West Virginia Wesleyan, New Haven, Lynn and Bentley.
• The Lions first ever home game will coincide with their first ever conference game. They host Post Saturday, March 15 at the Jackson Justice Complex.
• The CACC is split into two divisions, North and South, much like Basketball and Volleyball. However unlike Basketball and Volleyball, the Lions will compete in the CACC North Division this season.
• Georgian Court has 50 games on their schedule, 18 at home and 32 on the road. Of the 50, 36 are conference games.
