Softball Starts Week With Back-to-Back Doubleheaders

LAKEWOOD, NJ (April 20, 2025) - Georgian Court Softball returns from a quick holiday break and steps right back onto the field. They play two doubleheaders to open the week, one home and one away.

Previously vs. Post
• Georgian Court has won 13 of the last 14 against Post and are 32-12 against the Eagles all-time.
• Last year in Lakewood, the Lions dominated in a pair of five-inning run-rule wins, 15-2 and 10-1.
• GCU smacked 10 extra-base hits in the two games.
• Julia Lapp and Janelle Blaszka each picked up a win in the circle.

Previously vs. Bloomfield
• Georgian Court has won 30 of the 40 meetings between these two schools and are 18-6 when playing at home.
• Bloomfield nipped the Lions in the last game though in 2024 in Bloomfield, snapping a 12 game winning streak.
• During the 12 game winning streak, six of the games ended in run-rule wins.
• Last year's game went to extra innings as the Bears tied the game in the seventh and won it in the eighth, 4-3.
• Game one was also a one-run game. Bloomfield tied the game in the sixth, but Gabriella Aleman won it with a sacrifice fly in the seventh. 

Last Time Out
• Georgian Court picked up another conference split last week with Dominican.
• GCU fell in game one 9-3 before roaring back with a 7-0 game two win.
Janelle Blaszka scattered five hits in her fourth career complete game shutout.
Brooklyn Ragland was 3-3 with a career-high four RBI. 

Individual Milestones
• Julia Lapp is two strikeouts away from 50.
• Isabella Molina is one game away from 50. 
• Lia DeMaio and Charlee Mae Sinderud will get to 50 hits with four more. DeMaio is also two at bats away from 200. 
Kaylin Curro is two hits away from 50. Her seven triples are tied for the second most in a single season and shes five away from the record. 

CACC Leaders
• Kaylin Curro is up to fourth in the CACC in batting average and on-base percentage. 
• She leads the league and is sixth in the country with seven triples. 
• Cheyenne Jackson is seventh in the league in slugging percentage and 10th in OPS. 
• Janelle Blaszka is fifth in strikeouts looking and ninth in wins. 
• Georgian Court's 118 strikeouts are the second fewest in the league. 
• Defensively, GCU is fourth in fielding percentage. 

Who's Hot?
• There's noone hotter than reigning CACC Player of the Week Kaylin Curro who has seven multi-hit games in her last eight and hitting .576 over that span.
• Janelle Blaszka hasn't allowed more than two earned runs in any of her last four starts. She has a 1.22 ERA in her last 23 innings pitched. 
• Isabella Molina is hitting .636 with seven hits in her last 11 at bats. 
Brooklyn Ragland has a three-game hitting streak and is 5-9 over that span with a career-high four RBI game against Dominican. 

About the Opponents
Post Eagles

• Post is having a rough go of it with a 4-33 record and 2-17 mark in the CACC
• The Eagles have already played 20 run-rule shortened games among their 37 games played.
