LAKEWOOD, NJ (April 24, 2026) - Georgian Court Track and Field had one final tune-up before next week's CACC Championship meet. The Lions sent a couple to compete in the Penn Relays while a majority of the team was at the TCNJ Invitational.
TCNJ Invitational
Sprints / Hurdles
• It had been a couple of years, but
Shalom Adzakro finally set a new personal-best in the 100m hurdles. She ran 15.29 for 10th place and is now in sole possession of sixth all-time in Lions history.
•
Leela McConnell was the only Lion on the women's side running the short sprints. She was 27th at 200m running 27.95.
•
Molly Burns ran the full lap around the track and finished in 19th place in 1:04.12.
• Running the 110m hurdles,
Brian Kutney finished in ninth place with his time of 15.37.
• New school record holder
Barone Vankline was back in action in the 100m dash. He finished fifth running 11.01.

Nick Jordan finished in 28th in the event running 11.68 and
Joshua Tipaldo was 50th in 12.76. Jordan also ran the 200m and was 38th in 23.81.Â
• Leading the Lions at 200m was
Marcos Murillo-Benavides. He ran 23.56. Two spots behind him was
James McCoy who finished 35th in 23.74.Â

Brandon Rudder ran himself to second all-time last week in Lions history in the 100m and 200m. This week, he moved to second all-time in the 400m. Rudder finished third overall running 49.61, a new personal-best mark and the second fastest in Lions history.
• Also running at 400m was
Sean Donnamaria. He finished 13th in 51.29.Â

Gary Boyd, Jr. competed in the 400m hurdles and finished in eighth place running 1:00.20.Â
Distance
• Big day for
Sophia Mauro in the 1500m. She set a new GCU school record running 4:51.30. That's a PR by 13 seconds and is third in the conference. She also finished third overall in the event.
•
Nora Sprunger tried her hand at 1500m for the first time at GCU. She finished 38th in 5:46.11. Three spots behind Sprunger was
Kerry Ann Hohenshilt who ran 6:25.52 for 41st place.Â
• In the women's 5K,
Brenna Sullivan ran 22:26.43 and finished in ninth place.Â
•
Ryan Pettrow qualified for the seeded 1500m run. He finished in 18th place running 4:04.37.
•
Colin Broadbelt ran for the Lions in the open 1500m. He had a new PR time 4:29.29 and finished 41st overall.
•
Zachary Spoonire set a new personal-best in the 800m. He ran 1:59.07 for 21st place. That time also moves him to eighth all-time in Lions history.Â
• Abdullah Brown joined Spoonire at 800m. He finished 65th overall running 2:18.92.
• The Lion men had three run at 5,000m.
Nolan Kus led the way in 17:11.51 for a sixth place finish.

Matthew Schaub took eighth in 17:32.88 and
Luke McCormick was 10th in 18:03.59.Â
Jumps
• Georgian Court had three in the women's long jump and all three finished in the top-10.
Daizhae' Brown led the group with a fifth place finish jumping 18-1.
•
Sigurlaug Sveinsdottir finished seventh at 17-4.25.
•
Shalom Adzakro had another personal-best jumping 17-1.25. It's her first time jumping 17 feet and moves into 10th all-time in Lions history.
•
Sydney Hurley finished in ninth place in the pole vault. She jumped 10-0.Â
•
Juliana Dogostino was the Lions only high jumper. She cleared 4-6.25 for 16th place.Â
• In the men's long jump.
Chuck Smith had a ninth place finish with his mark of 21.6.
• GCU had two in the top-10 in the men's triple jump.
Shona Mutokuto matched his season-best jumping 45-1.75 for fourth place and
Matthew Sutton was seventh with his just of 42-0.75.
• Donnamaria's day wasn't done with his quarter mile. He also jumped in the pole vault and cleared 13-1.5 for fourth place.Â
Throws
•
Adrianna Fodera led the Georgian Court throwers. She finished fourth in the shot put with a new personal-best 39-10.75. That mark is eighth in program history.
• Also in the top-10 was
Sigurlaug Sveinsdottir. She finished ninth throwing 38-9.75.
• Making her GCU debut in the shot put was
Maeve Connell. She threw 35-4.50 in her first meet and finished 14th.Â
• Fodera threw the javelin as well and threw another personal-best. Her mark of 112-6 had her placed seventh.Â
•
Guius Dabney had a big personal-best in the shot put. He threw 50 feet for the first time and finished fourth overall throwing 50-1.25. That throw moves him to seventh all-time in GCU history.
•
Cameren Anderson also threw an outdoor PR in the shot put. His throw of 48-10.75 is his best mark this spring and put him sixth overall.
•
Thomas Menegus finished 15th in the shot put competition throwing 42-0.75 and
Anthony Lorenzo was 23rd at 39-3.75.
• Anderson also had a PR in the discus. He threw 151-11 for fourth place which is eighth all-time at GCU.
• Menegus threw the disc as well and placed eighth with his mark of 128-1.
•
Amir Spruell-Everson rounded out the GCU throwers and placed 13th throwing 120-9.
Georgian Court elected not to compete in the hammer throw Saturday afternoon at TCNJ.Â
Penn Relays
•
Malicah Etienne competed in a pair of events at the famed Penn Relays. He was the only Lion to throw the shot put and finished 22nd at 50-2.75. He was also seventh in the discus throwing 167-1.
•
Mark Linton finished one spot behind Etienne in the disc. He threw 165-7 for eighth.
•
Kaydence Fischer threw the discus to represent the Lion women. She was 10th in the event throwing 131-5.Â
