Outdoor Track
• The outdoor season brings with it new events, especially in the throwing events as the discus, hammer throw and javelin are all competed outdoors.
• On the track, the shortest sprint jumps from a 60m to 100m. That goes for hurdles as well with the 100m hurdles for women and 110m hurdles for men. There is also a second hurdle race added, the 400m intermediate hurdles.
• Mid-distance runners drop from the mile indoors to 1500m outdoors. There is also the addition of the 3,000m steeplechase and the 10,000m races.
• The biggest difference of course is the size of the track. Indoors is competed typically on a 200m track, and where the Lions mostly compete it's a 200m banked track. Outdoors doubles in size to a 400m flat track.

Last Time Out
• What a week it was for Georgian Court at the Shippensburg PR Bonanza.
• The meet lived up to the hype with countless personal-bests.
• It was a warm day, great for the sprinters who showed out, especially Barone Vankline and Brandon Rudder in the 100m and 200m dashes, who each ran faster than the previous school records in both events.
Mark Linton won the discus and hammer throw and set a new GCU record in the hammer.
Daizhae' Brown competed in the triple jump for the first time and needed just one jump to get to the top of the CACC.

New Look Top-10
• On the outdoor top-10 list, Georgian Court has 33 new marks for 2026.
• Sigurlaug Sveinsdottir is in the top-10 in four events while Daizhae' Brown is up to three.
• Fellow freshmen Sophia Mauro in the 800m and Sydney Hurley in the pole vault have cracked the top-10.
• Throwers Kaydence Fischer and Chiamaka Wokocha have seen improvements in the discus and hammer throw, respectfully.
• In the men's throws, there have been eight new marks. Cameren Anderson stamped his name in the record books in all four throwing events.
• Guius Dabney in the shot put, Malicah Etienne in the discus and Mark Linton and Amir Spruell-Everson in the hammer throw have new 2026 marks in the top-10.
• The Lions men set three new school records last week. Two from Barone Vankline in the 100m and 200m and Mark Linton in the hammer throw.
• The sprints also have Brandon Rudder with new PR's in the 100m and 200m, Nick Jordan in the 100m dash, Brian Kutney in the 110m hurdles and Gary Boyd, Jr. in the 400m hurdles.
• Nolan Kus in the 5K and Matthew Schaub in the 10K represent the distance runners in the top-10 this season.
• Shona Mutokuto and Matthew Sutton in the triple jump, Chuck Smith in the long jump and Sean Donnamaria in the pole vault are four GCU jumpers with top-10 marks in 2026.

What to Watch
• This is the final meet before the CACC Championships. Most have already punched their ticket, qualifying for the meet, but there are some on the outskirts who could still qualify or improve their current status.
• So far there have been 61 CACC qualifying marks for the Lions.
• At the Penn Relays, there are just three Lions competing, all throwers. All three of Kaydence Fischer, Malicah Etienne and Mark Linton will throw the discus. Etienne will also throw the shot put.
• The TCNJ meet has been moved nearly entirely to Friday. The only exception is the hammer throw is currently scheduled to compete Saturday.
• Most are competing in just one event this week, especially on the track.
• Throwers are doubled up and in Cameren Anderson's case, tripled up in events.

Georgian Court Awards
• The awards returned for Georgian Court this week following their meet at Shippensburg.
Daizhae' Brown was named the league's Field Athlete and Rookie of the Week.
• Also a Field Athlete of the Week was Mark Linton.
• GCU had the Track Rookie of the Week on the men's side in Barone Vankline and the Field Rookie of the Week in Chuck Smith.
• Making the weekly Honor Roll were Brandon Rudder and Sydney Hurley.

GCU Rankings
• In the United States Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) rankings, Georigan Court ranks first in the CACC on the men's side and have moved up to seventh in the region.
• The Lion women rank fourth in the conference and 12th in the East Region.
• The USTFCCCA Event Squad rankings has the GCU men's discus throwers ranked 14th as a squad.

National Qualifiers
• At the Lions last meet, both Mark Linton and Malicah Etienne hit national qualifying marks in the discus.
• They are two of eight total athletes from the CACC to have hit provisional qualifiers.

The Outdoor Schedule
• Following this weekend there's just one meet left for GCU, the 2026 CACC Championship meet, once again hosted by Georgian Court. That's held Friday-Saturday, May 1-2.
