GALLOWAY, NJ (Sept. 20, 2025) - Georgian Court Cross Country raced for the third time in three weeks, and despite the heavy workload, enjoyed their finest day of the young season. The men finished sixth among 16 teams and the women were 11th among 14 teams while both squads saw plenty of personal-bests on the day.
The women were led by
Sophia Mauro. She finished the 6K course running 26:21.71 and was in 58th place. That's the first time she's broken 27 minutes for a 6K. Behind Mauro was
Gwendolyn Morris in 71st place. She ran 27:05.36, more than a minute faster than her 6K time from a week ago.
Nora Sprunger finished in 105th place and broke 30 minutes running 29:56.99.
Samantha Lonseth was 120th in 33:07.57 and
Kerry Ann Hohenshilt rounded out the scoring for GCU running 33:52.06.
Rowan was the team champion totaling 43 points. Rowan's Gabriella Pagano was the individual champion finishing the course in 22:26.04.
For the men,
Ryan Pettrow and
Zachary Spoonire worked together and finished back-to-back in 39th and 40th place. Pettrow ran 27:41.90 for the 8K race and Spoonire 27:42.33 which was a personal-best for the sophomore.
Matthew Schaub had a big PR as well and was 62nd running 28:38.10. He finished ahead of
Joe Jamolawicz in 83t place with a time of 29:48.57.
Luke McCormick cracked the top-100 placing 96th in 30:42.05.
Colin Broadbelt finished the scoring running 35:08.82 and was 140th overall.
TCNJ scored 34 points to claim the team title. Jacob Dinerman from Rutgers-Camden ran 25:07.20 to win the individual crown. The Lions finished ahead of four CACC schools in the race, besting Felician, Caldwell, Holy Family and Chestnut Hill.Â
