COLONIA, NJ (Jan. 27, 2026) - The outstanding start to the Georgian Court Track and Field season continued Tuesday afternoon as the East Coast Conference (ECC) announced two Lions as winners of their weekly awards. This week,
Ryan Pettrow earned the league's Track Athlete of the Week while
Daizhae' Brown was named the Field Athlete of the Week.
Indoor Track and Field is the only sport Georgian Court competes in as a part of the ECC. Thus the weekly award coming from the ECC rather than the CACC, which does not sponsor Indoor Track and Field.Â
This is Pettrow's second career ECC Track Athlete of the Week award, also earning one last year. Pettrow was the winner in the men's mile at the Franklin and Marshall Invitational. He crossed the line in 4:28.11, besting second place by three-tenths of a second.
For Brown, a freshman, this is her first career Athlete of the Week honor following just her third meet with the Lions. Brown competed in three jumping events. She won the long and triple and was third in the high jump. Her jump of 37-4.5 in the triple jump was a new personal-best and moved her to fifth in Lions history. In the long jump, Brown's first jump of 17-7 was her best and enough to earn another event win by three-quarters of an inch. She jumped a personal-best in the high jump as well clearing 5-1 on her final attempt. That mark is tied for fifth in Lions history.
Both Pettrow and Brown are among the leaders in the ECC this season. Pettrow currently sits third in the conference in the mile and fifth in the 3,000m. Brown meanwhile is second in the ECC in the triple jump, third in the long jump, fifth in the high jump and second in the 60m dash.Â
This weekend, Georgian Court competes at the Alvernia PLEX Shootout Saturday, January 31, in Reading, PA.Â
