The 2026 Men's Lacrosse Season Starts on the Road at Mercy

LAKEWOOD, NJ (Feb. 17, 2026) - Georgian Court Men's Lacrosse are coming off of a historic 2025 season that saw them win the CACC Tournament and earn the program's first ever bid to the NCAA Tournament. That was last year though and the 2026 is just around the corner starting tomorrow afternoon in New York.

Previously vs. Mercy
• Georgian Court and Mercy have met every season the Lions have had a men's lacrosse program dating back to 2016.
• Things haven't gone well for the Lions who are 0-10 all-time against the perennial ECC power.
• The Lions scored their most-ever goals against Mercy two years ago in a 19-9 loss on the road.
• Last season, these two teams also met on February 18 in Lakewood. That was a 21-6 Mercy win as they scored eight second quarter goals to put the game away.
Vincent Burkhart made 10 saves. The Lions got two goals from Matt Dorrian and Doug Mackenzie

Last Time Out
• It was a bittersweet ending to last season. The Lions made their first trip to the NCAA Tournament following a CACC Championship win.
• The year ended with a 23-9 loss in the opening round against eventual National Champions, Adelphi. 
• That capped off a 12-7 season for the Lions who tied a program record for wins and won their third CACC Tournament Championship. 

Individual Milestones
• Brodie Seaborn needs three goals for 30 and three points for 50. 
Aidan Miranda is one game away from playing in his 50th career game and Hunter Rindos one away from his 40th. 
Malik Alzubi needs four ground balls for 50 in his career. Christian Smith needs three to reach 30. 
Harrison Jordan is one shot away from 150 and three from 100 shots on goal.

2025 CACC Stat Leaders
• Brett Bridges finished third in the CACC in goals and points.
• Doug Mackenzie was also in the top-10 in goals.
• Bridges and Harrison Jordan were in the top-10 in assists. 
• Max Dennington was third in the league in caused turnovers with Joe Murphy fifth. 
• Vincent Burkhart led the CACC in saves.
• Stephen Albanese is in the top-10 in ground balls and eighth in faceoff winning percentage.
• Daniel Devitt was fourth in the league in faceoff winning percentage. 
• The Lions offense finished in the top-four in the CACC in points, goals and assists. 
• The defense had the most caused turnovers.
• GCU led the league in man-up offense scoring 40% of the time on the power play. They were also fourth on the penalty kill. 

2026 Season Outlook
• Georgian Court was picked to finish first in the league by the coaches in the preseason poll.
• The Lions will look to senior goalkeeper Vincent Burkhart to keep them in a lot of games this season. He's been named All-CACC each of his first three seasons with the Lions.
• GCU's roster is comprised of 13 seniors and six juniors.
• Before the CACC season starts, the Lions play at Mercy then have home games against Assumption, American International and Pace from the Northeast-10 Conference.

About the Opponent
Mercy Mavericks

• Mercy got their season started with a dramatic win over the weekend, 13-12 over Assumption.
• They've been ranked 17th by the USILA in the first two weeks of the regular season in the coaches poll. 
• Playing on the road, the Mavericks scored twice in the final 1:43 to tie the game, then won it in overtime. 
• Matthew Magyar scored six times and was named the ECC Player of the Week. Cameron Dorfman was the ECC Goalie of the Weeek after making 13 stops including one in the closing seconds to force OT.
• Ahead of the season, Mercy was picked to finish second in the ECC after winning their fifth straight ECC title in 2025.
• The Mavericks return five All-ECC selections from last year's team including Preseason All-American SSDM Jake Norton. 
• Michael Mitrano took a majority of the faceoffs for Mercy, but was just 11-25 on the draw.
• Mercy was able to force 24 Assumption turnovers, but lost the ball 24 times themselves. 
• Despite five man-up opportunities, all 13 Mercy goals came at even strength with the exception of one shorthanded.
