STATEN ISLAND, NY (Feb. 20, 2026) - Georgian Court Track and Field had one final indoor meet left on the schedule. A handful of athletes competed at the Fastrack Last Chance Meet Friday afternoon. GCU finished their indoor season strong, winning four events and competing well throughout the meet.
Throws
•
Malicah Etienne was the winner in the men's shot put. He threw a season-best 50-8.25.
•
Cameren Anderson finished third overall, second among college athletes, throwing 48-7.75.
•
Amir Spruell-Everson threw both the shot put and weight throw. He was seventh in the shot put throwing 40-5.75 on his first, and only legal throw of the day.
• The women also had an event winner in the shot put as
Sigurlaug Sveinsdottir threw 38-9 to take first place.
•
Adrianna Fodera was third at 35-0.
• Fodera's day wasn't finished though. She had a career day in the weight throw where she set a new PR throwing 51-4 to win the competition. That places her fourth all-time at GCU. It wasn't just one big throw from Fodera. All six in her series were further than her previous PR and five of the six eclipsed 15m, something she hadn't done before today.
•
Chiamaka Wokocha finished in third place in the weight, throwing 47-5. Her first throw was her only legal throw of the day.
• Georgian Court went 4-4 winning throws events.
Mark Linton was the Lions final event winner on the day. He won the weight throw with a toss of 57-1.
• Anderson and Spruell-Everson were both in the top-10 as well. Anderson finished second at 51-6 and Spruell-Everson was ninth at 43-0.
Track
• Three Lions ran the 800m and all three were in the top-10 among collegiate competitors.
Sophia Mauro finished fourth overall, second among collegiate finishers running 2:25.09.
•
Zachary Spoonire and
Ryan Pettrow finished back-to-back in 13th and 14th place overall. Spoonire ran 1:59.45 and Pettrow 2:00.19. They were the fourth and fifth place collegiate finishers
Jumps
• The Lion women had two long jumpers and they finished in second and third place, only behind a club athlete.
Daizhae' Brown moved to second place on her final attempt jumping 18-3.
•
Sigurlaug Sveinsdottir was right behind Brown jumping 17-6.
Lions Track and Field is off for a month now. When they return they'll be on the outdoor oval starting March 20-21 at the Stockton Invitational.
